Somewhere between D and F. Right where "DF Express" ranks as a nickname ...

I went with a B. Korver might retire/get waived so no harm there. Would have liked to have kept Crowder for rotational depth and only given up one first, but have to be realistic that Conley is that much better.

Initially I gave it a B for Barf.

However, I am willing to remain optimistic and will withhold judgement until the entire roster is set so I will go with G for Gag for now.

I'm going with I for incomplete. I'll say the same thing I said about the Hill trade--it depends whether Conley reups with the Jazz or not.* Hill didn't, and because of that it was a bad trade. We'll see about Conley.

I assume the Jazz have talked to Conley and/or his agent and have some assurance that he'll be here more than a single year. But I assumed that about Hill as well.

*unless the Jazz win the title this year, in which case it was a great trade either way!

As one that administers exams, do you let your students write in answers to questions? :D

Right now, the trade looks good because Conley is healthy so I'll give it a B. It could be an A if he leads us to the West Finals or beyond.

If he gets hurt or leaves early, the trade is easily an F.

Much like a draft pick, it's silly to grade a trade hours after it was completed.

What Avery said. I'm a tough critic so a "B" from me - for now - is high praise. Will be interesting to see how Dennis fills out the roster.

Two late first round picks for a perennial near all star two-way player for possibly only one year. Tough to decide.

Fixed that for you. And the fix does indeed make it tougher to decide. For me, anyway.

edit: plus it's not necessarily "two late first round picks". The second pick will likely be in 2022 with only top 6 protection, and who knows what the Jazz will be like that season. We can hope the Jazz are still in the playoffs, and we can hope they are going deep into the playoffs, but that very easily might not be the case.

I want B do only to him having a player option after this year. Otherwise an A.

I went with A. Conley is the best point guard available to the Jazz, whether through trade or free agency, and the Jazz got him without giving up their best trade asset in Favors. I'd rather have Conley on a 2-year deal than Kemba or DLo on a 4-year max deal.
