What's new

Hassan Whiteside

He really has a nice touch inside. Even scores on ridiculously contested shots. Mostly baby hook. But he even has a TD bank shot in this one!

Can definitely absorb contact better than Rudy.

nah man whitesides got offense

Not really. 20 pts is an accomplishment to him. And looking at the video, his offense is completely unconvincing. He doesn't get a good position, and I'm surprised every time his off-balance post moves actually result in a bucket. Considering how far he's come though, I bet he'll develop a decent offensive game to go with his elite defensive skills. But he's not there yet.

I'd rather have Favors next to Gobert regardless.

Nah going with younger, quicker and angrier.

Even though their games look similar from a quick looker outsider's point of view, Gobert actually has a skill that Hassan lacks a lot. When he is going up for a block or dunk, the time he spends to reach the goal point with his hand(s) is astonishingly short compared to players his length. That is the most special thing about Gobert's physical package. Guards lack the understanding of his ability to catch their drive in layup moves on a sudden moment. I am looking forward to these two players' matchup. I hope Quin gives Gobert close to 30 minutes and match him up with Hassan (considering Hassan keeps this up and plays a lot, maybe starts) so that we can see the big difference there more clearly.

Whiteside looks like what people think embiid will turn out to be. How in the world was he stuck in d league?

Damn man. Whiteside is one off-season away from developing a go to move and averaging 16/10+ a game. I think he'll be better than Favors.
