Help generating a photo montage

Does anyone know ways to generate one of those photos where you take one main picture that’s made up of a whole bunch of other smaller pictures as you zoom in?

Thanks. I’m curious how big of a print you’d have to get for it to work out. A buddy of mine’s son died about six months ago. I’m sure doing things like having formal(ish) family pictures is tough after that. I was wanting to take a family picture whenever they do it and have it be composed of pictures of his kid.

Check out Turbo Mosaic. It tells tou parameters. They have different editions. Pixel count matters, so high res photos are good. I am not sure how it works with scanned photos. I have a friend that does it, I can ask him for details. I would like to do more with photo stuff, just work too much to do much of anything.
