How often are you watering in Utah?

Just curious, how often are you watering? I’m trying to keep it to about every 3 days and for 15-20 mins on the sprinklers and 30-35 for the rotors. I don’t know if it’s too much or too little? Today I discovered that I’ve got some grub in my lawn creating a few yellow patches. So that’s not great.

I water about every third day for about 30 minutes per station. But one of the stations doesn't even work and one of my main sprinklers doesn't work and my lawn is really yellow (hardly any shade) and I dont really care anymore. If it were up to me and my wife had no say then I would just shut the sprinklers off and let the lawn die. I plan on eventually putting in a bunch of concrete and astro turf anyway so I really dont give a crap about my lawn anymore, plus I feel wasteful watering it in a severe drought.

I don't water, just let it go dead. Neighbors think I'm super environmentally conscious, but I'm just lazy and don't want to mow as often.
Bingo disco!

I have not watered one time this year or last year.

Lawn is not valuable to me. It looks nice, but so do a lot of things. Why it is the thing that has to surround every single house in the world is strange to me. In a place like Utah it really just doesn't make any sense at all.

I water a lot. Every other day for 25 minutes per zone for eight zones and an hour and 10 minutes for my ninth zone which is my drip line for my 27 Green Giants. They’re my babies. Bought em at 6 feet. Already at 15 feet three years later…they might hit 20 feet by next fall.

Technically grass the way we know it is mostly an invasive species anyway. Not natural to most any environment where we make it a lawn. I have been trying to convince my wife to go to a natural landscape, so here it would be a desert landscape. Of course I am not giving up the citrus trees, so there is that I guess.

I’ll send some pics of what they looked like a few years ago if I still have the images…and what they look like now.

It is annoying to constantly be clearing weeds from the ceremonial grass. You just can't stop stuff from growing around here. Midwestern problems.

Are you using them for a border wall kind of thing?

Yep. I have an apartment complex behind my yard. The nearest building is about 100-150 yards away but I’d like the privacy and not seeing them. Can’t be associated with the riff raff, ya know?
Yeah the people in the apartments definitely don't want to be associated with that...
