What's new

Hunger Games

So did you go see it? I was thinking of taking my son to see it this afternoon.

Makes more sense than the majority of crap coming out currently. I'm a fan, though. I take it you haven't read the books? Makes a lot more sense when you know what's going on. It IS Book-to-movie, so I'm sure they cut some out. Going to see it in an hour, so we'll see then.

I just hate unrealistic movies, if it's not a believable plot I can't enjoy it. The details that were missing make the story unbelievable. I havnt read the book but taking to people who have those details are still missing in the book.

The "right" is all up in arms over the violence and kids killing kids now that it is out now that they have seen it.

Um hello? That is what the book was about. What the hell were they expecting? I am going to see it.

I'm reading the book right now and going to see the movie on Sunday. The book is a bit far fetched when compared to our society but I wouldn't call the story inconceivable or anything. Yeah, it's fiction and set in a different world when compared to the one we live in today, but so is Harry Potter and Ender's Game, etc. Since when is a little dreaming and imagination not allowed in movies or books?

Honestly, I have never understood a person's lack of preference for something that is "unrealistic". Do you have no sense of imagination...?

Is Ender's Game being turned in to a movie??? Or was that just an example of a different world?

I just looked at that on IMDB. Basically a SWAT team gets trapped in a building with a bunch of mobsters/drug dealers/similar bad guys right?

I bought tickets to the 12:20 am showing last night and was so excited, I peed my pants.

I read the first book a few times before I went to see the movie, which was probably a bad idea 'cause I had every detail seared into my memory. I was a bit disappointed. I guess my expectations were way too high. The scenes/details that they left out, lack of character development, shaky camera, and how everything just felt so rushed ruined it for me. Didn't hate it, though. I would watch it again and will go see Catching Fire when it comes out.

One last thing. I love Peeta. He's what...16 or 17 in the book? 19 in real life? Yep, I'm a 'Peeta-file'.

Didn't Arnold Schwarzenegger make this same movie in 87 it was called the running man pretty much same plot but Arnold could kick everyone's hungry ***

Can anyone answer me these questions?

-Why can't the people that live in the districts just move to the Capitol where there is plenty of food? Are they held there because of their race or religion?

-They people in the district act like they have never seen food before. The main girl freaks out over a crumble of bread. Yet she is curvy and everyone looks healthy, even all the guys are all ripped and sexy looking. Makes no sense.

-The Capitol city is far more advanced in technology then our current time. So they are clearly smart people. Yet they see it fine to keep people in camps and "hungry" living like dogs, as well as watching children kill each other. Not only that but the cheer it on like the Super Bowl.

-Imagination and creativity in stories is great. But make the story consistent and believable under the setting its portrayed in.

-Also I agree its a rip off of Running Man.

Yeah for over thinking everything! Glad you guys expect Oscar worthy storyline and details from The Hunger Games and every other movie you watch.
