What's new

I just found out I have the #1 pick in my ff draft. Convince me who I should take.

I totally agree. Rice is the best overall guy imo. Let me put that another way, the safest. Of the three, he has the best o-line, has a defense who will help keep him on the field (though their secondary is going to be shaky this year), and defenses can't focus on him as much as say AP and CJ since their QB's are shaky ones in Jackson and Young. I wanted the 3rd pick but am not too upset with this. At 24 and 25, I should be able to get two very high quality players and if things fall right, at 48 and 49, I could get someone like Ryan Matthews or Tony Romo or Michael Crabtree, guys who should put up stats worthy more of a late 3rd.

Is there any chance you can move down to 2 or 3 in your league and snag an extra pick while still nabbing Rice?

I'm a Titans fan (don't laugh, I go back to the Earl Campbell Oilers), yet I would still go with AP. It just feels like an injury year for CJ.

This is what I said to my friend. While my logic tells me pick CJ, my gut tells me AP is going to come out with something to prove and CJ, talking too much about getting 2,500 yards, feels like an injury year to me too and/or is going to see defenses schemed better against him.

I would probably go with AP, especially if Farve comes back (which I bet he will). History has shown that RB's that have an enormous amount of carries the previous season tend to break down the next season, especially of his size (see Michael Turner last season). Hard to repeat the kind of season CJ had a year ago, too.
