What's new

"If our deficit gets to 27 points, then I'll make a sub." - Jazz coach Ty Corbin at halftime.

Dude, you are starting to sound like Sloanfeld. I agree Ty has sucked, but your posts aren't funny, aren't insightful, and feel repetitive. I realize everyone needs to bitch about something ocassionally, but it feels like a constant bitch fest from you about Ty.

PS-post it in the game thread.

Oh my word - I apologize. I'm so sorry to have offended you in such an intrusive manner. I'll remember your advice moving forward and thank you for offering it. I'll be praying you find the strength to get over this. I know I will.

Nothing against Ty, but they look confused out there tonight offensively.

May be it'll take 5-6 games for the players to get accustomed to the system... let's see..

"Lets wait and make yet another thread about Ty because all I want is a bunch of attention and in no way could have posted this in my other thread about how much I hate ty Corbin." ****own

It's not, but did you see T'Wolves' 1st game against OKC? That's an example of what a good coach can do to a crap team IMHO.
Not disagreeing with you but should we expect a new HC to immediately look as good as Adleman and all his years of HC experience?

Also I disagreed with some of the things but in the first half as I said in the game thread he tried 11 different players partly due to early foul trouble and the same line up that started the 2nd half is the same lineup that got the Jazz their only lead but yeah he did seem to stick with it too long and maybe over thinking things.

It's not really his "in-game" coaching I was worried about (although there are concerns there too). I just don't know if he's experienced enough to guide an already young team that we currently have through practice, teaching them to run plays, etc, etc. I know KOC has faith in him, and Ty could be great in 3-4 years' time - I don't doubt that.

But everything KOC has said was about winning now and not rebuilding. On that basis, can we really wait 3-4 years while Ty gets to grip with what it means to coach an NBA team at an elite level?? Is he up to the level of the likes of Rivers, Adelman, Carlisle, heck even Mike Brown?

No; the superior solution is to hire the better head coach in the first place. Adelman, Carlisle, and Thibodeau have all been available during the past 3 years, and all it took was to wish Sloan well without renewing his contract, thus being able to control whether Ol' Jer retires respectably.

Here's how not to overthink it:
1. If a player or lineup is playing well, play them more (Favors, Hayward, etc.).
2. If a player or lineup is not playing well, play them less (AJ, Bell, Miles, etc.).
3. Give the youngins enough minimal time to develop, especially when the outcome of the game is not in doubt--or in order to satisfy #2.
4. If some or all of the youngins constitute a lineup that satisfies #1, then see #1.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Jazz win by ten and were never down by more than a few points. The best thing about the Jazz winning is that -hopefully- the Ty haters will stop posting.
