What's new

In last 10 yrs, record for most consecutive games holding opponent to 90 pts or less is 9. Jamz at 7

"Jamz"... <snicker>

If by some miracle we can keep Houston under 90 we could have a good shot at that record. Problem is Houston hasn't been held under 90 since early January.

This will be a true test! Is there anyone who can limit harden? I dont think there is. He is so good at drawing contact. I want to keep an eye on houstons length. Theyre so good at getting you to turn the ball over and score in transition.

Kind of feel like it's easier than ever to do it now though because of teams tanking. You can go through a stretch where you play a lot of ****ty teams in a 10 game stretch.

Sap Jr. WILL SHUT HARDEN DOWN...(maybe) I wonder what the record for most consecutive games holding opponents under 100 since the three-point era?

Jamz gonna break that record. Maybe not this season, but they will def be breaking this record in the Rudy Gobera

But even the lowest-scoring team in the league this year (76ers) averages 90.6 points per game.

Well part of it is that we are a really good defensive team and the other part is we play slow as ****. If we can keep a slow pace vs Houston and limit TO's that result in easy buckets, we got a chance.

Gonna be interesting to see what effect Rudy has on him too. If he cannot get to the rim, what does he do? Not expecting great results, just an interesting contest and good experience for Rudy, and Sap jr. They could both foul out in 10 minutes too. Harden is great and gets the calls.

Houston plays pretty slow as well, so it might work.

I would love to see Exum on Harden. Though Millsap or Hayward could work also. It's wonderful to have multiple guys who can potentially guard him.

I don't see a good outing here for Sap Jr. if he gets a lot of time on Harden. Guy is a tenacious defender, but gets out of control with fouls quite frequently. Going against the best guy in the league at drawing fouls will spell trouble.

Additional impressive defensive stats to throw out there...

In the last 12 games:

11 of 12 opponents held below their season average (the ugly Lakers loss the lone outlier)

6 opponents were held 15 or more points below their season average. 5 were against playoff bound teams - Dallas (-18), Portland (-26), San Antonio (-20), Memphis (-17), & Milwaukee (-22)

Over the 12 game span, Jazz allowing 92.3 ppg (1st in the NBA)
