Is Tibor Pleiss playing in the olympics?

I believe Germany was eliminated from Olympic contention when they lost a key game to Spain last Summer at EuroBasket and then failed to qualify for the last chance qualifier. So I don't believe Pliess will be playing.

Tibor might surprise. His stats in the DLeague weren't hideous and I think if memory serves he was third or fourth in the league in rebounds per game.

Pliess sucks and what a waste of money he is ...

You're talking **** and can't even spell his name.

Germany will play the qualifier for the european championship 2017. The preparation for it begins at the end of July. The last game of the qualifier is in the middle of September.
Both Schröder and Pleiß are already excused for the opening training camp. There's no official roster yet, but Schröder has publically said he'll play. So if the report states Pleiß is excused as well, it's very likely he's privately given green light as well.

All I'm saying is he isn't worth his contract, we are paying a d league scrub good money and we should be using that money on a worthy free agent that can contribute. He isn't worthy for me to spell his name right, he sucks

He's redundant to Rudy. Also: Judging an overseas player in year one has never been a good idea. Ignorance is a trait...

Over paying an overseas player with little to no talent is foolish, don't take any scouting jobs in the future or just sell your Pleiss Jersey it's OK ...

Pleiss will be given every chance he can to succeed. He's the crowning asset in the Kanter trade (well, not counting No Neck who was cut last Fall). Doesn't really matter what his salary is. DL has struggled to just hit the salary floor the last two years. Jazz have plenty of cap space to sign a FA, but I'm not holding my breath. I'd place the odds at 50/50 that Booker will be back as the other key veteran (along with Hill).

True. First year is often a struggle for intl player in NBA. Bjileca was pretty horrible first 4/5 of season last year, but finally turned it up at the end of the season and of course he was the Euroleague MVP the season before. I was hoping we could get De Colo over and save our 12th pick, but obviously a dead idea now.

We need to give him a shot. We traded Kanter for him, he was the first player taken in the 2nd round of 2010 draft ahead of Hassan Whiteside and Lance Stephenson. Plus he was 3rd in the DLeague in rebounding last year.
