Isn't this the best case scenario??

Our young guys are playing meaningful minutes in close games with a lot of pressure since the playoffs are on the line. Yet we keep losing which will improve our draft pick AND it likely means the front office being more aggressive in the summer because the team was not able to make the playoffs as currently constituted. I like the fact that our young guys were not handed anything which forced them to improve their games to get minutes. Because the young guys have played in meaningful games i think the front office will feel more comfortable if they can't sign either Al or Millsap at what they feel is proper value at just rolling with the young guys and seeing what happens.

Yes I am ok with this. They are heartbreaking losses but its clear we are trying to win. Also the C4 are getting good time, even though that decreased some last night. If we play the youth and fight for every game and lose than I can except that.

And there's a slim chance that if we REALLY blow it, Corbin will be gone as well. That would be a fantastic outcome.

Best case scenario is that corbin plays the core 4 + carroll MAJOR minutes since the start of last year..... we end up with 2 lottery picks from last years draft...... due to the experience that favors, burks, hayward, kanter and carroll got last year plus our two new lotto picks, we are now fighting for a 5th or 6th seed and hoping to get to the 2nd round of the playoffs.

Also we could have traded jeffy and millsap last year for something as well.

Man we had a great opportunity with all our young talent and assets that we had and between our front office and coach, we kinda blew it.
We could be having a GREAT season this year with lots of young talent!

What exactly did we blow this year, and yes, let me save you crazy people some time.... (That's what she said). Anyways. This is our roster we tried to trade Millsap, didn't happen, and the core four finally look like they will make some noise. The future is bright for Utah.

Exactly what is your problem?

Taking some time to think about it, it would've been really hard to trade Jefferson, seeing as he makes 15million this and last year. We wouldn't have got anything back that is desirable. For us fans it's easy to say "I'd give Al for a bag of chips". However for KOC to do it. It gives him and this team a reputation of being dumb and pushover team in trade negotiating, and would make it that much harder to get good returns or even fair returns in trade talks, not to mention Utah being a small market.

Trading Al just wasn't a practical goal in the eyes of the Jazz Organization, and letting Al expire is probably more valuable to the jazz then taking on more contracts we don't need to match Al's huge salary. I'm fine with Al expiring.

Also weren't there reports that the jazz tried to move into last years lottery, but teams were asking for Favors. I'm guessing the jazz were using the GS pick and either Millsap or Jefferson as bait.

Like I said... we should have been playing the core 4 major minutes since the start of last year. Then they would be more ready to play right now and we would be a better team right now and we might have gotten 2 lottery picks last year

What the hell have you been watching the last month the c4 have looked great and is painfully obvious they are ready to play big minutesim now seeing that the jazz have done a fantastic job bringing these guys along. They are starting to pan out well for us.

Again for the slow people. The core 4 should have been playing major minutes since the beginning of LAST YEAR. We would be a better team right now for it.

Also, did you not see last nights game? Everyone is healthy now so burks gets 14 minutes and kanter gets less than 20. Hooray, best case scenario!

It was obvious last year, and the start of this year they weren't ready. They would've played struggled and learned bad habits because of struggles, playing so many minutes not to mention losing confidence that has ruined so many careers.

It was a brilliant move by the jazz to force them to earn their playing time. When they become starters they will appreciate it more not taking it for granted.

This is not fact, but your opinion. In your opinion this team would be better off but in my opinion they would've been ruined, damaged goods, and sacrificial lambs, because they weren't ready to play especially Kanter.

Ok thee jazz fan, apparently you and the OP best case scenario is to miss out on the playoffs and have the lakers take our place, while burks get 14 minutes and kanter gets 17 minutes per game... to each thier own.

My best case scenario on the other hand: Play the youth MAJOR minutes since the beginning of last year and try to trade paul and jeffy during last season. Then miss the playoffs last year (i know the 4 game butt kicking at the hands of the spurs was awesome) and possibly get 2 lottery picks in the draft and maybe have a chance at lillard. Then by this point of the season our youth would have all the experience from last year and we would hopefully be making a run at 5 or 6 seed in the playoffs with our youth getting all the minutes. (i already think our youth is better than foye, watson, tinsley, marvin, jeffy and sap right now. Imagine how good they would be with alot more experience!) I definately dont thing we would be any worse off if we would have played our core 4 most of the minutes since the start of last year, since it looks like we are not going to be making the playoffs this year anyway.

Fair enough...... you might be right about this (though i disagree with you)

But still, is your best case scenario really to miss the playoffs this year in favor of the lakers and still have our youth rot on the bench? (like last night) If that is your best case scenario then i just feel sad and sorry for you.

Didn't you read my earlier post concerning trading Paul and Al? They tried at last years draft. Teams inside the lotto wanted Favors or one of the other young guys not Paul or Al, and it looks like they tried to trade Millsap at the deadline this year.

And I already talked about the fact that your opinion on play time for the 4 is different from my opinion.

You should just be happy that my opinion has worked because we have learned over the last month that the C4 will be able to carry the team for years to come, and by letting Al simply expire we will have room enough to resign the c4 and held on to whatever reputation we have as not being pushovers as trade negotiators. We tried to trade Millsap and couldn't.

We saw Favors gain some good experience and confidence in the playoffs, and I'm sure Hayward will learn from his failure in the playoffs.

If we should happen to miss the playoffs we may be able to draft Burke or one of the other pg's with upside, and who knows maybe Stern will recognize what we're building in Utah and award us with the 1st pick;)

The way I see it I'm not the coach or the GM, and there's nothing I can do about it. Corbin will play who he will play, so I hope we don't make the playoffs so we at least have a shot at Burke, also like that Canaan prospect with our second pick if we lose out on Burke or someone better falls to our first pick unexpectedly.

I'm not going to say I'm right and your wrong about making the 4 earn play time, but watching them play last year and the start of this year, it certainly was a possibility of them falling flat on their faces.
