Jazz need to trade for Rondo and sign Harden

We have the trade pieces in Millsap, Jefferson, GS Pick, Harris, and trade exception to get Rondo

We have the cap to offer more to Harden than OKC if they want to resign Ibaka

Rondo = gives us a passer
Harden = gives a scorer and playmaker

Harden may be the best closer on OKC btw after his performance tonight

Rondo is a rare commodity, a point guard who's teammates make him look better than he really is.

Harden can shoot. But since we are over the cap, we can only offer him the MLE.

Or, I guess, we could sell the Franchise to a buyer in Vegas. That'd be cool too...

Harden is an RFA after next year - Jazz will probably be in a position to offer him a max deal if they wanted to.

Should we trade for Lebron and Durant too?

And bring Magic Johnson out of retirement for our bench?

There is no way that the Thunder are letting Harden go for anyone not named Lebron or Dwight Howard.

Rondo might become available if we were willing to trade Favors.

We NEED to get Stockton back, he has been running ladders in Spokane all spring. He is ready to go for game 4.

You are under rating Rajon Rondo, really under rating him. I'm sure that a 35 year old Kevin Garnett and 36 year old Ray Allen are just carrying the whole slack for Rajon Rondo, huh? You could have used that excuse maybe 2 or 3 years ago, but there isn't a very true offensive weapon on that team than Paul Pierce. Paul's points come mostly from isolation.

I bet you don't even watch a Boston Celtics game but every once and a blue moon.

Rondo has already got 7 career triple doubles in playoff contention. SEVEN TRIPLE DOUBLES. Those are easy to get though, right? But his team is the reason he gets all of those rebounds.

Get off Rajon Rondos ballsack. The guy is a true point guard, and is definitely top 5 point guard material. I guess when it all matters you have to put up with being underappreciated by a bunch of Utah Jazz fans who think they know everything to build a championship piece to get here.

This thread is 1 notch above "Trade for Lebron and sign Chris Paul" type of threads in terms of intelligence.

Why? Take away what you think about either player and its within the realm of possibility from an NBA standpoint. Maybe less so now that Rondo is doing what he is doing in the playoffs and we wouldnt likely (shouldn't) give up the young pieces the Celts would want, but it's not "trade for LeBron" esque.

As has been said before, OKC will likely have to choose between Harden and Ibaka and since they have so much loot tied up in Westbrook and Durant the thinking is they'd want to shore up their front court and likely couldn't match a max type deal.

So regardless of if you want the deals to happen they aren't impossible as you're somewhat insinuating.

I should have said "one notch above" in terms of intelligence. It's not possible.

Thanks for making sense. I am glad others can see the possibility of this happening instead of just shooting it down.

Please explain. You literally mean its not possible? From a CBA standpoint? Again, please explain.

From a realism standpoint.

I don't think Rondo is attainable. I know there have been a lot of rumors, but I think they are just that, rumors.

Harden isn't coming to Utah. I'm sorry but SLC isn't exactly a hot bed for top FA who may very well be getting max offers from multiple teams.

I think Burks has the tools and the willingness to become a "James Harden" in 2-3 year's time.

Watch this space.

SLC is not a hotbed, that is true. I think a max contract and playing with some great up and comers like Favors, Hayward, Burks and Kanter and leading that group could be very tempting.

I just hope that these young guys work hard in the offseason and get the plating time to grow on the court next season.
