I'm between Babbit and George.

I think George has more upside but Babbit is more of a sure thing. I went Babbit.

I went with George last time, but I switched to Davis for this one. I've come around a bit with him...

Patterson.

If I knew Boozer was leaving for sure, I probably be more open to Patterson. He's strictly a PF in the NBA. Davis' athleticism may allow him to play a bit of center, so that's why I prefer him. Davis looks stronger defensively as well. What makes you pick Patterson here?

If I knew Boozer were leaving, I might take Patterson as early as 6. All along, the biggest problem if the Jazz were to lose Boozer would be that Millsap would start, but that they wouldn't have anybody play Sap's role off the bench. I think Patterson is a near lock to come in and play a Millsap type role off the bench - perhaps not as good as Millsap, but enough to be a significant contributor right away.

Boozer is leaving and Patterson would fit in nicely as Millsap's replacement. He's unselfish and very efficient. And he is a willing passer and a very good free throw shooter. If the Jazz can't darft Henry, Patterson would not break my heart.

Davis is very talented, but I question his durability and his heart. Patterson is all heart. He plays hard and dives after loose balls.

I think this Round 11, is kind of fun, because it's the first mock where, according to me, everyone listed here shouldn't be drafted by the Jazz. I can't see anyone here who is worthy to me of a Top 9 pick.

So because of that, I chose Patterson because he seems NBA ready to me. A pretty tough banger type guy. Davis still kind of scares me with injuries, etc.

On NBADraft.net one of the reviews on him says: "One of the most efficient players in the SEC at 18 PPG (.664 FG% and 1.66 PPS), 9.3 RPG and 2.0 BLK ... He is a warrior inside who understands how to play post position with his back to the basket and relies on his deep position under the basket ... One of the toughest players in the league .."

I think that was from his Sophomore year, but still, he's a decent player. Ya, if no Booze or Millsap, I would be on the draft Patterson bandwagon.

But with Millsap and/or Booze, Go Aldrich or move way up to at least #3. He he!

He plays hard, but he'll never be the willing passer Millsap is, for sure.

I can see why some people would vote for Whiteside if they want a young center . . . Davis for a young high potential inside guy . . . Patterson for a more proven 4 . . . but Babbit is ridiculous with what is left on the board. Babbit and George are both 3s yet George has a better all around game. If you want a 3 vote for George. It just depends on what you want.

How is Babbitt ridiculous?

George scored 16.8 points per game on 42.4% from the floor and 35.3% from three. He was great at the line at 90.9%, grabbed 7.2 rebounds, dished out 3.0 assists, and had 2.2 steals, 0.8 blocks and 3.4 turnovers per game.

Babbitt is a month younger, scored 21.9 points per game on 50.0% from the floor and 41.6% from three. He shot 91.7% from the line, grabbed 8.9 rebounds per game and committed just 2.4 turnovers per game. He's better in every stat listed thus far. He blocked shots at the same rate of 0.8 per contest. He's outdone only in assists with 2.1 per and steals with 1.0 per.

So explain to me how Babbitt is ridiculous?

I can almost guarantee if Babbitt was black, people would absolutely love him. Seriously, his stats and measurements are quite similar to Wesley Johnson.

Exactly - Babbitt is superior in nearly ever production category and they played in the same league, but somehow it would be ridiculous to take Babbitt over George and George clearly has a better all-around game. A great assessment on default's part, to be sure.

Babbit isn't as quick or explosive as Johnson. His athleticism may not translate to high impact in the pro game. I like Babbit, George and Whiteside. Went with Whiteside for about the 3rd time now. I think Ed is the new Antonio Davis, which is nice, but he's going to need to work hard to be a real impact player. Until then I see him as just nominally better than Millsap at best, kind of like Udoh.

I can't sit here and say you're wrong. In fact, I believe you're right. But by very little.

Babbitt actually had a better vert and was quicker in the agility drill. Johnson was faster in the sprint. And in game footage (yes, yes I know, but that's all I have of Babbitt), I think he looks damn explosive. I'm not hoping to see it either. It's just there. It's not Joe Alexander whose explosiveness was more a result of his overall strength/lifting. It's pure fast twitch fibers in my opinion.

Davis. I could warm up to Babbitt, but at the 9th spot I'm completely prejudiced against small school players. There are exceptions I guess, but Gayward Honzward would not be one of those exceptions. Babbitt could be because of the athleticism and the shooting, but Nevada? Why does a McDonald's All American choose Nevada? Yeah, he's from there. But it's still freaking Nevada. It's like he didn't want to leave his mom. There's just something about him that totally bugs me.
