Patterson.
If I knew Boozer was leaving for sure, I probably be more open to Patterson. He's strictly a PF in the NBA. Davis' athleticism may allow him to play a bit of center in the NBA, so that's why I prefer him. Davis looks stronger defensively as well. What makes you pick Patterson here?
Boozer is leaving and Patterson would fit in nicely as Millsap's replacement. He's unselfish and very efficient. And he is a willing passer and a very good free throw shooter. If the Jazz can't darft Henry, Patterson would not break my heart.
Davis is very talented, but I question his durability and his heart. Patterson is all heart. He plays hard and dives after loose balls.
/cue pearl.
I can see why some people would vote for Whiteside if they want a young center . . . Davis for a young high potential inside guy . . . Patterson for a more proven 4 . . . but Babbit is ridiculous with what is left on the board. Babbit and George are both 3s yet George has a better all around game. If you want a 3 vote for George. It just depends on what you want.
How is Babbitt ridiculous?
George scored 16.8 points per game on 42.4% from the floor and 35.3% from three. He was great at the line at 90.9%, grabbed 7.2 rebounds, dished out 3.0 assists, and had 2.2 steals, 0.8 blocks and 3.4 turnovers per game.
Babbitt is a month younger, scored 21.9 points per game on 50.0% from the floor and 41.6% from three. He shot 91.7% from the line, grabbed 8.9 rebounds per game and committed just 2.4 turnovers per game. He's better in every stat listed thus far. He blocked shots at the same rate of 0.8 per contest. He's outdone only in assists with 2.1 per and steals with 1.0 per.
So explain to me how Babbitt is ridiculous?
I can almost guarantee if Babbitt was black, people would absolutely love him. Seriously, his stats and measurements are quite similar to Wesley Johnson.
Babbit isn't as quick or explosive as Johnson. His athleticism may not translate to high impact in the pro game. I like Babbit, George and Whiteside. Went with Whiteside for about the 3rd time now. I think Ed is the new Antonio Davis, which is nice, but he's going to need to work hard to be a real impact player. Until then I see him as just nominally better than Millsap at best, kind of like Udoh.
