Game Thread Jul 13, 2022 05:00pm MT: Raptors Vs Jazz (Summer League)

Added to Calendar: 07-13-22

The Jazz lost by six to the Raptors today although the game wasn't that close. The Jazz never led and Butler and Bolmaro couldn't throw it in the ocean. Other than the kid that was the Big 10 defensive player of the year it was a pretty yucky showing by everyone. No one gets a juice box or trophy today.

Kofi looked good, really disappointed in Coboclo, particularly his defense, wondering with all Toronto's length why Taco didn't see the floor. Cockburn, Juzang, Butler, Bolmaro and Morsel were the real bright spots as far as I'm concerned. Simanic looked good in short minutes IMO.

This was a game the Jazz just couldn't seem to get over the hump. They played a bad first quarter and were paddling upstream the rest of the way.
Very true. Coboclo's missed dunk off that incredible behind the back pass from Butler really sealed the deal for us. And yet, Butler almost single-handedly brought us back from a seven point deficit down the stretch. A little better defense from the bigs and the miracle finish might have been ours!

Bruno played some dumb basketball today. I guess that might explain why he's been out of the league.

Key word being "dumb". Honestly that was my first thought as well - he just looked lost and purposeless. Sorry Bruno fans but I am no longer in favor of signing him, lots of better prospects out there, starting with Morsell on our own roster.

I take it you're aware that Bruno will be 27 when the season starts, a year older than Marvin Williams was when he was signed by the Jazz and almost immediately regarded by fans as a "washed vet"?
