D-League team Idaho Stampede announced that Kevin Murphy has left the team and will continue to play the season overseas. Murphy was selected with the 47th pick in 2012 draft.

The player is represented by agent Zach Kurtin.

I suspect his NBA days are over. Quin must have thought the guy stunk as he cut him way early after something like 5 minutes in one preseason game and there was never a hint of bringing him back when he was putting up good numbers in the DLeague. There are some really bad teams that need a scorer right now and he did not get a sniff.

He'll get paid better playing overseas. I bet he'll have nice numbers as he played well in the D-League last season and at times scored at will.

That's 95% true. I don't consider Carlos Boozer or Derek Fisher a Jazzman.

How do you feel about Mark Jackson or John Amaechi?

As for Murphy, the money is probably why he left. If he has a deal overseas, he can make a lot more...provided the team makes its payroll. That's a huge concern with some of the lesser leagues. And there are a few places I wouldn't want to be if I were an American basketball player.

I'm sure he was a great guy, I mean, even his cousin posted on this board right after he was drafted. It kinda puts things into perspective when the people around a player is super excited to see him play. It's just sad that he looked super lost on the floor whenever he was out there, and he DID NOT have an NBA body for his position.

One of the reasons I'm pulling for Neto. Raul seemed genuinely excited to play for Utah; IIRC his idol was Stockton. And then they ask him to stay in Europe and draft another PG.

His dad's idol was Stockton. I got the sense he liked him, but it was more of his dad's thing.
