What's new

KU and Mizzou to the MWC?

I'm at the point where I could care less what the radio or ESPN says. Wake me up when this is all over. The situation changes hourly it seems.

Personally, I think this monster conference movement is overrated. I think most teams are going to stay where they're at. A few teams, like Colorado and Nebraska and Boise St are moving. But I just don't see massive PAC-16 takeovers with schools like Texas, Tech, and OU moving.

It's all but a done deal according to ESPN. I know you don't like them as a source but it seems like they are certain that Texas, Texas Tech, Oklahoma, And Oklahoma State are headed toward the current Pac 10. If the MWC did get Kansas it would be A MAJOR move as far as basketball is concerned.

Agreed. Although your sig makes me puke everytime I see it, getting Kansas would be unreal for the MWC.
On a side note, LOL to all the Ute fans who were already gloating about going to the PAC10. I guess it could still happen but obviously, the PAC10 has its sights set a bit higher.

The guy on my sig is a great example of a Darwin Award waiting to happen. He also wears his mullet proudly. Have to love that kind of showmanship.

Utah looks closer to being in today. And now there are some scenarios where Texas Tech and Oklahoma State could fall into the Big 12 leftovers category as well. Madness.

Serious question though, if Utah ends up in that 16 team Pac 10 I personally think they are going to eat ****. Will Utah fans support a Pac 16 cellar dweller?

I dont understand something. There are only 12 football games in a season. How would a Pac-16 conference be able to have all the teams play eachother? I was under the impression that all teams in each conference played everyone once. But maybe I am just totally off here.

It would almost be like two separate conferences in one with the occasional criss-cross game. They solve that problem by having a championship game.

They plan to play 3 teams at a time... its gonna be awesome.

Seriously? Ever hear of a Conference Championship Game? It's what happens when a conference with more than 10 teams divides into divisions. All the teams in one division play each other. The winner of both divisions play in a "championship game". For an example, please refer to the SEC and the old Big 12.

Another post demonstrating your intelligence.

Update: Kansas supposedly wants what is remaining of the Big 12 to stay together. Obviously that is not going to happen with at least 4 teams leaving for different conferences. Kansas is really interested in getting into the SEC if the Big 12 folds like it appears to be doing. But the SEC for whatever reason doesn't want Kansas. They must value football far above basketball. Anyway, thought I would give you as up to date as possible. Oh and Mizzou is freaking out in their search for a new conference. I would expect the MWC to get at least Mizzou. Kansas ultimately may not have a choice but to follow.
