My 4 Step Solution

#1- Trade Millsap to Portland for #6, Cash.............Pick Harrison Barnes. Hollinger on his chat the other day said this scenario is very possible.

#2- Trade TPE to Houston for #16, then package #16, Cash and 2013 Jazz Top 14 protected for next year to Detroit for #9.............Pick Damion Lillard, and Detroit can still likely get a big like Henson, Melo, Leonard etc.

#3- Sign Ersan Illyasova to 4/$30 which gives us a stretch 4, 3pt shooter, and he is from Turkey to help him and Kanter.

#4- Send Raja somewhere if possible or amnesty him. Send Watson to Atlanta and promise to pick up $4M of an amnestied Marvin Williams. Or get Marvin as a sign and trade by signing Chris Kaman for something like 3/$24M to Atlanta for Marvin.

How: Jazz Shed Millsap cap hold of $8.6, Raja $3.48, Watson $2M and pass on team option players for now which takes us down to $38M + $5.5M for Barnes & Lillard we sit at $43.5M with a projected cap number of $58M we have $14.5 to make the free agent offers to Illyasova and Kaman to get Illyasova and Williams.

Harris/Lillard
Hayward/Burks
Williams/Barnes
Favors/Illyasova
Jefferson/Kanter

Imagine the lineup possibliities:

Lillard
Burks
Haryward
Illyasova
Favors

My Favorite
Burks
Hayward
Barnes
Illyasova
Favors

Other than that, Ilyasova and Williams are dime-a-dozen players, not difference makers. No need to create cap space to sign them.

Forget signing Marvin Williams, I like Illyasova but I'd rather keep Millsap over Jefferson

Who are you going to take from Houston so they actually get a TPE? Herrumph.

It's simple: before we sign-and-deal Kaman, we have Houston claim his Bird rights. Then they trade those Bird rights to us. When we sign him to trade him somewhere else, the league will get confused and think Houston sent him over on that deal and will award Houston a TPE.

Everybody wants to dream up solutions or scenarios, I have done it too. But none of them matter because KOC is calling the shots. So here is my projection of KOC's 4 easy steps:

1- Go to lots of draft camps and talk about them with local media. On draft day tell the media that there were players you liked, but no player that would 'put us over the top' and the other teams were asking too much to move up or move into the draft.

2- Draft a 4 year senior 'character guy' at #47, assign him to drive to Helper, Hurricane and Holden in August to do Jr. Jazz camps. Cut him in November.

3- Trade Raja and a future 2nd round pick for the rights to Fran Vasquez or some other dude that is never coming over.

4- Three or four weeks after FA opens, sign a low level FA wing to a 3 year 12 million or 4/16. Tell the local media that you didn't want to give up flexibility. Guys on roster will be more valuable at the deadline.

Either you're mad or Mellow = KOC. Which is it?

If Illyasova can play our 3, he's be boss. I'm not sure how he is defensively, but he could be a 6'10'' SF.

Sorry for some my errors. The #2 should be to use the tpe to acquire odom and #17 and then do the deal w detroit. Dallas does this to save cap space on odoms $2.5M buyout and the pick expense. If we don't want to get williams that's fine... Just resign our guy on the cheap.... But at least go hard after Ersan Illyasova, Barnes, and Lillard.

Illyasova is not going to be a backup on any team. No matter what forums I go to people are always saying "lets sign Illyasova for really cheap, he is an under the radar player that no one knows about that had amazing stats last year"

Gotta love plans that are impossible under league rules.

That have the same likelihood of coming to fruition as all the other deals discussed here. If neither are reality, why set limits? This is why I always go for gold in my proposals. No politically correct mumbo-jumbo.

You lost me at "Trade Millsap for Harrison Barnes".......Jesus ****ing Christ.
