"Chances are these are numbers Jazz fans are all too aware of by now, but for those of you not as up to speed since Sloan and D-Will left the scene: Elias says Utah is the first team ever to start 27-13 and miss the playoffs."

I dunno. I guess I'm taking a moment to cry over spilled milk here. This goes down in history as the worst season ever (At least since I started following the team closely in 1993 or so). One that started with such optimism only to end up like this. I'd say even worse than the turd in 2004 -2005, because at least that one unraveled pretty early on.

Let us all play our violins together.

I agree, it has been an amazing season.... one for the ages.
Let me tell you, when the Jazz set their mind to do something, they do it right.

'04-'05 was still more disappointing. The year prior we were suppose to be one of the worst NBA teams of all-time and we competed for a playoff spot up until the final games. Then we land Boozer/Okur in the offseason and Arroyo tears apart the US team over the Summer. Optimism was at a serious high coming into that year and we tanked hard. This year I really didn't know what to expect losing so many key pieces, but I thought we'd remain competitive throughout the year. That great start is what teased us so badly and makes this season feel so sickening.

Christ, who is ranked worse than the Jazz right now? I find that hard to believe.

Jazz are 27th??? Who could possibly look worse than the Jazz right now? 5-18 Since Sloan left, and 2-12 in the last 14 with wins over the mighty Timberwolfes and Philly 1976ers.

Maybe ESPN gave the Jazz credit for finding new and imaginitive ways to lose games?
Or because after the Al episode, the Jazz Players were told to smile and talk nice to the media?

Jazz remaining schedule: @LAL, POT, @SA, @NOH, DEN. I don't see a win there unless Den or NOH sits players.

Starting 27-13 was the worst thing that could have happened. If you are gonna suck you might as well start landing top 3 draft picks.

There is going to be a lot of pressure on the jazz this draft moreso than any other team. We are playing the worst basketball in the NBA right now. Part of it is injuries but still we have fallen pretty far from where we were. Like Chad said the 27-13 starts makes it much worse because we could be looking at two top 6 picks but now but it looks like a #6 and #12 most likely. Who knows what happens in the draft. Will we trade up, will we wait and see who falls. It's going to be pretty nerve racking.

Two words: re building

Last year our line-up was D.Will, Matthews, AK, Boozer, and Memo. Only AK remains on the roster, and he's out injured again.

The future is bright with Favors. That guy has Patrick Ewing potential if he wants it.
