Here are my 2011 NBA Post-Draft Notes:

Enes Kanter seems like the perfect pick, he loves the Jazz, and he couldn't stop smiling which is definitely a good thing.

Brandon Knight falling to #8 also assured me that the Jazz made the right choice, good thing they didn't take Knight it would have been a huge reach.

I am glad that the Kings drafted Jimmer before the Jazz's #12 came up, sure it would have been awesome for Jimmer to be a Jazzman, but ultimately the Jazz cannot get scrutinized for passing on Jimmer or for taking him over someone who turned out to be better.

When the Jazz were on the clock at #12, I was yelling no Chris Singleton because that would have been a horrible pick for the Jazz.

Kawhi Leonard not working out for the Jazz hurt him in the long run, he could have been selected at #12. Then again I kind of thought the Jazz might have tooken him because Brewer did not workout for the Jazz and he got draft at #14.

Alec Burks was the right choice, I was saying to myself Alec Burks or Kawhi Leonard either way I would have been happy.

Chris Dortch on NBA TV said that his front-runner for the ROY is Alec Burks and that he is the next Dwyane Wade. This made me excited although I have no idea who the heck Chris Dortch is.

I couldn't really get a good read on Alec Burks, but he seemed really shocked that the Jazz picked him at #12.

It seems to me that taking Alec Burks at #12 means the Jazz see Hayward as their small forward of the future which is fine with me either way.

Is it just me or does it seem like Enes Kanter wore a tie matching the Jazz colors in yellow and blue?

It is a great thing that Kanter and Corbin have already established a great relationship with eachother.

Jazz come out with the best two bigmen for the last two drafts respectively at #3 in Favors and Kanter.

Repped! Good thoughts. Agree with most of'em.

I think Burks was BPA and I would've done the same thing in the Jazz's shoes, but a bit disappointed that there was no Kemba or Jimmer left at 12. I like the upside and potential, but man is his 3pt shooting gonna be sketchy for a shooting guard. It was encouraging to hear Ty say their concerns would eased a bit when he worked out and showed his NBA 3pt range.

Dwayne Wade isn't the best three point shooter, either. Neither was Michael Jordan. Just because you are a shooting guard doesn't mean you have to be a great outside shooter. And what are we all really complaining about? WE ALREADY HAVE GORDON HAYWARD! HE HAS THE POTENTIAL TO BE AN UNBELIEVABLE OUTSIDE SHOOTER!!!

Oh, ok......I didn't see that until you posted it in ALL CAPS like that. I'm tempted to change my opinion..........wait.....no I'm not. After typing in lower case, I've calmed down and agree with myself.

looking at burks' highlights i can see where the wade comparisons come from: seems to have a nice handle, quick hands, anticipation on defence and nice athleticism when finishing. but more than anything else it's the way he gets himself free to create those pull up jump shots and fadeaways, hesitating on the release to get a shot away over the defender.

i would be thrilled if we have found anything that resembles "d-wade-lite" at the end of a weak lottery draft.

I'd be thrilled if Burks has a solid mid range game. We already know he can drive to the hoop.
The 3 pt shot would be nice, but it's not needed.

Remember Brewer couldn't hit the 15 ft little jumper. It would be nice to have a guy that can be deadly from there.
I think Kemba and Burks are the same in that area.
