Penalty kicks might not be the beat way to determine a winner but it sure is more exciting than a tie.

I was in the breakroom at work during the shootout and every person in there was very excited on every attempt. Very animated and vocal from everyone watching (some not even soccer fans)

Very tense, and entertaining way to finish a game

Chile's goalie dove the same way every time. I could have went 5 for 5 against that dude.

But really, those 15 minutes of penalty shots were better than the rest of that particular game. No contest.

I have been rooting for netherlands since thier first game i saw the orange jerseys and remembered how much i liked them in past world cups.

I picked them to win it all after thier first game.

Was in a Mexican restaurant with some friends, and naturally everyone is rooting for Mexico. One of my friends is telling us how he wants Netherlands to win doe, but he isn't saying it out loud. Netherlands scores the first goal and he screams, while everyone else is dead silent. Most awkward **** ever.
 
I bought Football Manager 2014 becasue it was on Steam sale and the World Cup has been cool.

Holy **** this game is in-depth. If I knew more about soccer it would probably be awesome. Wish they had a management game this in depth for Basketball.

There are two options in this version. One is the full-on simulation one and one is the arcade one where you don't have to deal with all the indepth ones. I strongly recommend you play the arcade one. I've been playing the FM series since '94, and even I was getting overwhelmed with the amount of detail in the last few installations.
 
I am just glad Greece lost. Can't stand to watch them play. Boring.

Generally what is the longevity of a soccer player at this level? Does their pro career span 10 years, 15, or more?
 
Always a joy seeing the Mexicans get knocked out. Glad they did a solid for Concacaf by making it that far, but no need to see them do any better than that.
