I'd need a lot more details. I'm willing to give the judge and jury the benefit of the doubt and assume they made the right decision.

If it basically started as a mutual physical altercation and at some point the power ranger gets a hold of a sword and in the heat of battle stabs the other guy then manslaughter is pretty much the right charge.

I'm certainly not one who thinks there's any benefit whatsoever to long sentences. What benefit does society gain from a 6 year sentence vs a 3 year, vs a 15 year? I actually think that if a person will ultimately be released the sentence should be less than 5 years, and maybe that's too long. Prisons are torture chambers. I don't want people going in for 6 years of torture and then have them released back into society. If they are more ****ed up coming out then they were going in I don't really see the point.

Now, some people probably should never ever be released into society again. We caught the crazy, violent threat to society. Let's call it a win and never put them in a position to threaten innocent people ever again. But for people who made a mistake, even a very big mistake, if they are eventually going to be released I think we should do some actual rehabilitation and then release them after they've had enough time to "learn their lesson." Which I think takes no longer than 2 years.

Look, obviously with a name like that, he's privileged in the post-Obama world, and he has reduced the white male problem. Shouldn't he be rewarded or something?

On the other hand, do you realize the cost of keeping people in prison, especially when that person obviously serves a high civic purpose in the voting booth? Everyone knows CA needs at least 1M additional dem votes to keep the PRK intact, and bring in all the federal money for welfare and medical care to keep the PRK "solvent" so to speak, although I question the wisdom of being solvent in a Noah-class flood.

Shoot, no need to hate on it. Every state is gettin there own. Orrin Hatch claims he kept Hill Airforce base open. We got the data center money. Mid-west gets tons of crop subsidies. South Dakota got a dumb *** statue of faces carved in to a mountain. Louisiana gets a **** ton of money for buildin where they should not be. On an on.

All these subsidies, they are all so senators kin brag about what they do for the state an get reelected. None of um really care, they all work together to get pork for each other.

When you got a body like that they can only jail you for 6 years.

The real question now is "how many stabs per year" will he get in the Prison showers?
