OT(ish) - Interesting ESPN article on the night Rudy shut down the NBA

Will never forget that day. I flew to Vegas to watch the Pac 12 tournament with my dad. After we leave the gate - but before we take off - I see on Twitter the tournament would be played without fans (cancelled the next morning). I call him, tell him not to get in his car to drive up, fly to Vegas, and immediately buy a return flight home (after a few beers at the airport bar to mellow out). What a time to be alive.

Adam Silver:

"My wife was laughing at me and saying, 'Why are you doing this?'" Silver told ESPN. "I go, 'This is what we're talking about every day at work. It's only toilet paper, but let's get the extra toilet paper.' She told me I was being an alarmist."

After he spoke, Gobert rose from the table and turned to leave, then he paused, turned back to the microphones and playfully touched them and the recorders on the table. It was his way of saying that he wasn't especially concerned about the spread of the virus.

This is also ********. The press were separated from the players. Rudy touching the microphones was more about an act of solidarity for the press pool than a statement about the virus.
