Hey guys,

So I got Salt Lake City on my "move-to" list here soon. Possibly by the end of my June lease. I currently work for PepsiCo so it could definitely be that I won't have to look for a job, but I find that it's possible the drivers in SLC may make less than the drivers in San Antonio (Where I currently live).

I know this is asking for a lot(whole lot) but is it possible for one of you to ask your local Pepsi guy how his job is? I'd thank you a lot.

Also, how is the life in SLC? I don't drink so obviously Im not a huge partier as I do nothing besides workout these days, hike, and all of that so I feel like it's right up my alley of places that I'd enjoy to live. Will I get harassed by the LDS? Is it laid back?

Are there a lot of nutrition stores? Im a big supplement aficionado.

How much do season tickets usually run? I will be going to a lot of games if I move to SLC, as that is my main reason to move to Utah in the first place is to be close to my team.

THANKS! I really appreciate all the help you all bring my way.

You would love it here. Cost of living is pretty low. There are jobs here for you in production and driving industry that pay well. (I work at dannon and know guys at frito lay, and truck drivers too).

Having said that, **** off and don't come here. Everybody stay out. This place sucks. Mormons, crappy air, porn problems, opioid abuse, crappy beer. Etc etc.
Everyone stay out! Utah sucks!

(Really it's awesome though) STAY OUT UTAH SUCKS

I know I will. I'm pretty stoked to move there I think finding a place to live while working around my work schedule in Texas will be the toughest part. When I saw my first Jazz game live last week in San Antonio I was like damn I definitely need to live in Utah. I am from the north so I'm familiar with winter weather.

I know a guy who used to be a Pepsi driver. He drives for FedEx now, so maybe he didn't like it. That was like 10 years ago though.

Utah is really fun. You'll need to get into winter sports, like skiing or snowboarding.

Well from what I have seen on their current job posting the Pepsi drivers in SLC also do sales as well. Talk about a ton of work, and you make 18 an hour doing it whereas drivers here, and most other places only deliver/merchandise and let the sales reps do the selling and you get a base pay + commission. You must work a lot of hours if you are getting paid by the hour.

I look forward to a lot of what the outdoors has to offer as well.

Foleys in Ogden is the best boxing gym in Utah. Thirty minute drive from slc. Produced the only gold gloves champ in Utah history.

Found out that I'm going to have to start from scratch with my CDL. From getting a permit and taking those tests over again to taking a road test all over again. Oh boy, this may take longer than expected.

SLC is a very low Mormon and is a liberal City. It is similar to Austin. Outside of SLC there are way more Mormons per capita. There are tons of outdoor things to do and lots of good hiking. There are lots of gyms and SLC is King of the supplements so I think you'll be happy with that.

Because it's a different state or do you need a different class?

That's a bummer. Waste of time. I swear I have no idea how some people have a cdl. We get guys in who literally can't speak English, can't follow directions, and can't friggin backup. Had an Asian guy last week, and I'm trying to send him to the loading warehouse (disclaimer: we're very rural. Like, only place for miles), and I'm telling him to head north for a mile, cellar is on the west side of the road. Guy keeps asking for an address. Freaking people can't drive without a gps.

We're moving to Utah the end of June, too, from north of Austin. You wanna split the cost on movers?

What class CDL do you need? I can train up to class B with air brakes.

Because of what Utah requires. I looked everywhere for "CDL transfer to Utah" and all of I can find is that I have to start from scratch no matter if I have my CDL already or not, which I have had since 2013.

Backing for some people is the hardest thing to do. Especially in between other trucks.
