People at work are walking around the facility looking at their phones and bumping into stuff like idiots.
It's an interesting phenomenon, that's for sure.
There were a few groups of people robbed yesterday. They think a group of teens lured people to a certain spot by promise of a Pokémon and then were easily able to rob them as they weren't paying attention to anything but their phones.
One girl found a dead body in a river in Wyoming, so that was a useful thing (not for the girl, but for the dead body). Apparently injuries are mounting up.
However, it's getting people off their couches, so that's a good thing.
I think I'll pass.![]()
Walking trails that are usually empty now have a half dozen groups on them at anyone time.
Like all things there are the morons and tools.
It's been cool to see my town get so much more active though. Walking trails that are usually empty now have a half dozen groups on them at anyone time.
Never heard of it.
Augmented reality games will become HUGE once HUDs become cheap and powerful enough to be mass adopted. Google tried this a couple of years ago with Ingress, but their Glass product was too niche for it to become a big hit. Count on this kind of activity to become a major cultural phenomenon worldwide within the next decade.
I work across the street from a park. There have been a lot more people than usual - all of them looking at their phones.
Just saw a warning posted by an outdoor amphitheater warning people climbing over the fence that they will be prosecuted for trespassing.
This is crazy!

The thing is like younger kids and teens are going to poke stops at like 2 am, that is how robbers are using them. They just chill at these spots late night.Like all things there are the morons and tools.

Yeah that's it. I saw a video of central park and there hundreds of people walking around looking at their phones. So can someone explain this in a few words? I'm getting the idea that it's not the standard "sit and stare at your screen" video game.
