Ok let's have the early predictions. PPG? FG%, 3 pt%, accolades, role on team, records set, whatever you think Mitchell will become in this very next season, after a summer working with the coaching staff.

I expect a modest uptick in percentages. I am going to say 46% FG (up from 43% this season), and 38% 3 pt (up from 34%). FT% stays the same, in the 80's.

I think he will lead the jazz with 22 ppg, but could get up to 25 depending on adjustments made over the summer by the team. The way we play team ball I just don't see him with enough outbursts to get much over like 24 at the top end. But we will see a lot of 20 pt games from him next year.

I think we will see an uptick in his rebounds and assists, especially after everything he learned in these playoffs when he had to adjust his game, and playing against Westbrook and Harden for 2 full series. He ended with 24.4 ppg, 4 asst and 5 reb per in the playoffs. His season averages for asst and reb was at 3. I think this bumps to 4+ assists and 5 rebounds.

I think he comes back with a plethora of new moves. I am hoping he works on his 3 pt shot the most, as that will open up the game for him more than anything right now. But I would also love to see him develop a tear-drop floater in the lane. This shot would be available for him almost every time he drives.

I do not think he will be chosen for the all-star game. Just too many established guards in the West that are already at that level and as a 2nd year player, unless he comes out guns blazing and puts up like 28 per game or something, he just won't get the nod.

But here is to hoping that he is the finals MVP next year. :)

Sports and fortune tellers.

My crystal ball tells me Mitchell will have an almost identical season to DRose's second season in the league.

My Prediction: Mitchell will up his FTA from 3.8 this year, to around 7 next year. Even with modest FG% increases that translates to 23-25ppg. He will also share more time at PG now that he's been forced into that role some more, and shown flashes with 11 and 9 assists. 24/5/5 next year is my final answer.

Do you think he'll play in the Summer League?

Knowing him he probably will - but I'd wonder if they should put him out there against inferior competition.

He'll have a bulls eye on his back for sure - everyone will be looking to make a name off him.

I think the worst thing for Mitchell is enabling a mind set that he's done enough.

around 24pt, 4 asists and 4 reb per game and All star for sure. IF fans not voting him in coaches will have no choice but to pick him after we will be in top 3 in western conference in January.

Can you read?
Yes. Someone asked if Mitchell should play summer league and you said that the Jazz can't enable a mindset where he's done enough. I inferred that you think holding him out of summer league would possibly enable that mindset. What did I miss?

Mitchell has enough self motivation to be great. Its why I laugh when people think that losing to BS in ROY will drive him. He doesn't need that motivation, and holding him out of summer league isn't going to cause him to just say "ok, I think I'm good, I'm going to stop trying to get better"

There is no god damn way he plays summer league... he played half the games last year cuz they knew he was beyond that level of play. No reason for him to be out there at all. He will show up with Rudy to support the jazz draft picks though.

25/5/5

Will shoot 45/36/85 split will get to the line 6 times a game.

All star... all nba team... signature shoe. I will buy all the spida merch adidas so take note.

lmao at the thought of Mitchell doing Summer League

It’d be like the star of the varsity team playing with the 7th graders in a preseason tournament to get some more reps... DM made like 4-5 years of progress in one season. Lock him in a gym with Johnny Bryant and send him to P3 a couple times... let him do the skill work he needs.

Lock Exum in with them and tell Exum to do everything Mitchell does.

I'm still salty about his hamstring... dude was playing so well... didn't look scared... was showing real emotion... hamstring quits!

He's had some absolutely horrendous luck. I wonder if he offended the churro somehow.

Would be really surprised if he averages under 25, IMO.

The 20 ppg number is misleading, since it includes October and November. He averaged 23 in December, 22 in Jan, 23 in March, 22 in April, and 24 for the postseason.

Call him a 23(ish) PPG player right now. My hope is he figures out to get to the line 5-6 times per night (up from 4), and increase his above the break/off the dribble three point shooting percentage to get his total 3P% up to 37-38% (and consequently take more total 3P shots). Those alone along with some additional developments could put him at 26-27 PPG, but I'm not sure he pushes it quite that high.

I'll caveat this by saying that my hope is that we add a few pieces in the offseason so that we have a baller squad next year, decreasing his usage rate slightly and leading to some DNPs in the 4th quarter when we're up huge. But we'll see.

I'll put my final guess at 25.
