Quote Notification

So my HP windows laptop is getting too old and I'm looking out for a new MacBook Pro, so I've decided to sign up to the forum there at www.macrumors.com to get some advice.

A couple hours after starting a thread and posting my question, I was pleasantly surprised to find that I have received x3 Quote Notifications from the thread that I started stating exactly who have quoted me and all I do is simply click on the link which takes me straight to the post that I've been quoted.

What a great idea! I no longer have to sift through pages after pages, threads after threads to see if I have been quoted so that I can reply to them. From the quotor's perspective, there's nothing worse than asking some a question and not having them answered back. It's the ultimate denial IMO. It's like sending someone this long winded email and they don't reply. Just makes both parties feel bad.

Another example would be kinda like asking your dad: Hey Dad - would you help fix my car? But your dad is deaf so he couldn't quite hear you, so he just ignores you. But that would make you feel real stink eh????? Cos you'd think he's dissing you or something. Bad situation. All round.

==================================

So my simple question is whether this functionality is available on JazzFanz?

Thanks in advance.

How were you notified?

Sent from my Nexus 7 using JazzFanz mobile app

In a highlighted box labelled "Your Notifications" at the top with the number of "Notifications" you have yet reviewed (similar to how we are notified when we get rep'd and/or get sent a PM).

Then when you click on it, it drops down into various "notifications" namely: Unread Private Messages, Incoming friends requests, Unread Picture Commentsand, and Quote Notifications. There is also a number at the end of each one showing the number of outstanding notification you have yet reviewed.

JazzFanz format is still visually nicer to look at, but this is a handy feature to have. It also feels more professional if you ask me....

Hope this helps, any other questions please fire them my way.

Exact same feature I asked to a mod if it was possible.

Just barely said I dunno I guess not.

I should have asked Stoked who cares to think what a person is asking to/off him.

Jason, this is the major feature yoh should add. If someone quotes you, that means he is talking to you. You should have the option to spend time to only those quotes when you do not have more time. Saves a great amount of time.

I'm looking into it.

Subscription will notify you of ANY thread update I believe.

I believe jazzfanz android app has this feature. I don't use the app much myself, though, so I'm not 100% certain.

White or wholegrain?

Full Cream or lite?

JazzGrumpzz hasn't heard of any of these. He milks his own cow, probably a buffalo, and bread without the use of yeast. . . . just pounds bark off a tree into a powder and wets it enough to make a paste, then licks the grindstone clean.

I know 'cuz I taught him all I know, when he was a pup. Fire hadn't been invented yet.

And while we're getting all modern, just so you know. . . . . pics are no longer good enough for 'net sales. Everybody is going to video.

We need not only notification of quotes or replies to our posts, but a count on how many have read them, how long they lingered on the drivel, and a display of who read them and how many times. . . . you know OneBrow probably comes back to read the same thing at least ten times. . . . and spycam video of them while they read them, so we don't miss any clues about what their attitude is, just like in real life where theoretically you can talk to people face to face. A real virtual internet living room. . ..

Of course, the list of visitors to our ramblings should include the NSA and all the other government agencies, domestic or foreign. . . .. and the corporates looking for information as well. . . . and the names or IP addresses supposedly regular types of visitors, as well. . .

dream on. . . . how's that song go. . . .

We've almost reach tjhe Dick Tracey Prophecy about video phones, haven't we.

LOL... yes OK I get your point.

But as an example: I'm a bit disappointed in myself for not noticing that you replied to my post in the Longest Thread and felt kinda bad not to have responded to it. It wasn't until you've updated it and I was just online at the same to have seen it being updated and clicking on it.

Otherwise I may have never noticed your fabulously poetic post ... and that would have been a great shame.

Is this a feature of subscribing to a thread?

This is babe slapping us in the face as always.

But think about the advancement of the last 13 years of beyond the two thousand years arc of the Anno Domini. Does it look that impossible for us to video-chat in here gathered as two hundred man with various types of notifications in about 10-15 years?
