This is a near certain loss.
Clippers haven’t beaten the Jazz in the regular season since October 24, 2017. In the four losses since, none have been closer than 12 points. Jazz are favored in the odds at -9.5. The Jazz defense has been outstanding in home games, ranking in the top five in points allowed, field goals and three-point attempts allowed. Utah has a +6.8 point differential in 39 home games. In seven games this month, the Jazz are ranked second in the NBA in points scored per game at 121. The Jazz are 9-2 SU and 7-3-1 ATS in 11 games as home favorites of 9 points or more this season.
If I am wrong I will be overjoyed. But this one I think is a loss. And that's OK. It was never expected to be a win and our path to the playoffs was never "Beat Utah at Utah".
Clips are 25th in 3rd quarter scoring
And first in 4th quarter scoring.
Doc can’t figure out what to do to fix the 3rd quarter problem.
Or as Don Maclean said, if they were better in the 3rd they wouldn’t have to be so good in the 4th.
This is a real tough game
Jazz are a better team, they’re at home, and they’re a matchup nightmare. This would be one of the best wins of the season if the Clips can pull it off
Utah is favored by 9.5 so it will make our victory even sweeter
God damn a win would be so huge here, we would only be a couple of nails away from sealing the Lakers coffin
Absolute must-win game
We just need to keep our foot on their throat....not press so hard....but enough to not get ourselves too cocky and then we get complacent
Just got home and holy **** 16 points lead 8 mins into the game? Wth happened
Trezz vs Gobert isn’t an ideal matchup for us
12 - 0 run for the Jazz now
Mitchell is just a one man wrecking crew. Uh oh- Jazz within 3 now.
cant believe we blew it that quickly...
Don’t know his name yet...but this number 4 has shown me nothing since the trade
Ingles bruh
Dude is a straight hustler
Continuing Gobert’s foul trouble has to be the first priority. With him out there, this game will only get harder
Jazz defense has stepped up big
These Jazz fans are funny- any foul the Jazz commit they yell out like some terrible mistake has been made by the refs.
Zubac got hit hard in the face but not foul
Yea he’s having a good half but being posterized then punched in the face may leave him with sour taste
Rudy just being in the paint is affecting shots.
When did the Jazz become such floppers
The Jazz are so good at generating looks from drive and kicks. We've been lucky that a number of their open looks haven't been able to fall.
Gobert just posterized zubac
O **** gobert murdered zubac
Zu on the poster, but I'll take him contesting a dunk 10 times out of 10
This is gonna be a tough one. The Jazz are just a matchup nightmare for us
Gobert just owning big Zu tonight
Holy **** they finally called a foul for us
Thats game. I aint mad. Jazz are heavy hitters while being a heavy Defensive team. GG utah
****ing Rubio
****ing Utah
We are choking every possible opportunity to win this game
Those offensive rebounds leading to the Ingles 3 are hurting so much right now
This feels really strange . . . The bench only has 19 points
butt clenching end of third quarter lol
k well look, end of the 3rd against the Jazz? Told me this before the game I’d assume we’d just charged back from a 16 point deficit
Ingles always kills the clippers. I know he is a good player but it seems like he still holds a grudge
Ballsy shot by Jingles
Gallo 3-14. Lou 5-18.
what the heck is going on?
The team needs to settle the **** down and play smarter. And potentially make a 3 pointer
Who stole our 3 point power
Our guys need to goto rebounding boot camp. This **** is hard to watch
I think even the Utah crowd is surprised when we get a foul call
Turd Quarter
Seems like everything just goes Utah's way right now, momentum is one hell of a drug
Remember when the Clippers had a 17 point lead? Those were good times.
This would be such a huge win if we can pull through, I'm so nervous
((
Holy **** we touch the ball and it's a foul
wtf Ingles
that was insulting
God jazz fans are so ****ing entitled
Utah is crushing us on the boards this quarter — that’s the story.
How do we keep allowing Rubio to drive uncontested to the rim
Oh my god, everything just going wrong
Jazz have given us every opportunity to win and we just decided not to grab a ****in loose ball smh
Jazz blocking a lot of our shots
Favors presence in the paint is killing us too
he's been surprisingly effective protecting the paint.
Man we just don't have an answer for Gobert
Well that sucks. Just got straight outplayed
Way to give Mitchell a clear path to the basket
Choke choke choke
Damn Joe Ingles is a baller. They say don't judge a book by its a cover but admittedly I did.
The Clips really don't have an answer for Gobert.
Trez is too small and Zubac is too young. Even so, to beat the dead horse re: Doc’s rotations, He played Lou too long in one stretch and I would include Trez as well. You’ve got to give these guys a breather or they start front ending shots they would likely make in the 4th. Also, if a guy’s energy is low, put in someone else. What happened to the theme of last year "next guy up" and "it takes everybody"?
Why did Shai play only 19 minutes? Why did Zubac play only 17 minutes? Trez isn’t going to guard Gobert and he is going to work his but off scoring points against him. Give him a breather when he is working harder due to the competition he is facing.
I hope LAC can keep it together. This game is a must win.
How much do we pay Gallo to shoot 3/14 and get abused by Favors?
Get rid of Zubac. No point of having him when doc won’t even use him for they job the front office brought him in for. He’s 7 feet tall and you have him in the bench while montrezl gets bodied down low and on the glass against other bigs.... makes 0 sense
other than Oracle up in Oakland, Salt Lake City is the toughest place to get a W. offensive rebounds did the Clippers in tonight. bounce back against Sacramento on Friday. hopefully the Clipps can get more offensive production from Shamet
This game is disappointing. They miss free throws, dunks, and need multiple shots.
We turned down so many gifts tonight. So many balls thrown away, so many missed layups, so many shots passed up. Clips looked for the most part like the better team but they just kept blowing it.
i think both teams were pretty sloppy tbh. But also, gotta credit the Jazz for doing a heck of a job in the paint. There's a reason why there were so many missed layups and turnovers at the rim, and it usually starts with Gobert
those Neto 3's killed me.... shooting 30% from 3pt this season so of course he's going to hit a couple of big 3 pointers to swing the tide of this game
Neto always dicks us somehow I’ve noticed
Felt like the whole game was a battle for the paint. The Clips desperately trying to stop middle pick and roll penetration, getting some nice deflections, and losing other battles to second chance rebounds. Gobert was the anchor on the other end as usual, but even Favors did a good job of protecting the paint, and we hardly saw the usual effectiveness of the Lou/Trez pick and roll because of it.
Disappointing, yes, but we put in a good effort overall given how difficult it is to play in Utah.
