Ricky Rubio or Mike Conley?

I have read that Memphis is more or less blowing up their team (Conley and Gasol)

**Gasol I like but doesnt make sense with Rudy

I like Conley but wow he would be expensive 30 mil this year 32 mil next and 35 mil after that.

I figure favors and Rubio would be the trade buf i could see them wanting exum maybe.

I dont think it would be worth it u less they give an asset to du.p his salary.

Dont like that salary at all. I'd rather see the Jazz upgrade at the 4 or bring in a scoring wing. Rubio can be had for the same amount or even a bit less, leaving money for another very good player. Conley would eat up all available momey.

Door #3

I don’t want a pg as ball dominant to be the primary back court partner.

No interest in Conley here. He's a nice player. But his age, cost, injury history turns me off. Plus I'm not positive that he's enough of an upgrade over Rubio that he would improve our team.

Rubio if those were the only 2 options.

I still think Mitchell at PG with a do-it-all offensive player at SG is really what we need.

Conley is like getting the best version of Rubio every game.

I think people have overstated his injury history. Was he injured last year? Yes. But he was also held out extra time to tank. It's not like he had some serious career altering injury that caused him to miss 70 games. Other than that season, he has only played under 60 games twice and never under 50.

For the price - Acquisition cost, cap space, etc. I'd rather keep Rubio... The Rubio rollercoaster sucks, but I'd Conley is the wrong age and dat contract is too prohibitive.

Conley is making 30 million dollars a year. Rubio is making like 10 million. Really? It's basically saying "I would rather have Conley than Rubio AND another really good player." Some people on this board are idiots

I'd love MC on this team, but his contract at his age is scary.
Plus injury history. Though all these mean he can be acquired for less. Ideally Utah's third star should be around 25 years and not make too much more than Gobert. Most importantly he should accept Mitchell's leadership.

So 1 out of 3 for Conley.

However... Not sure if it was reliable but someone had reported Conley is Coach Q's favorite PG in the entire league. Very coachable and dependable high IQ guy that will fit right in and make everyone better. Utah becomes a contender
{but at a wrong time with GSW dominating and DM/Gobert not in their prime yet}

Conley's sallary is too large and there might be other opportunities in the offseason and DL is frugal and patient so he will need a lot of convincing in case Q asks for Conley.

Conley is a coach’s dream. If you told me warriors break up this offseason I’d be more inclined to go that way... if still try and make it a deal where we pay 50 cents on the dollar. They showed their hand and the contract makes trades complex. We can make the dollars work and there are limited suitors.
