Rudy Gobert will retire as the greatest Jazzman ever.

Seriously, this guy averages close to 15 points per game on shots inside the cylinder. All he needs to do is implement a perimeter shot and a couple of post moves and he's Going to be the most feared player in the league.

He shuts down his opposition on a nightly basis, makes the shots the team needs him to make, and he's a ****ing Frenchman with the most badass surname in the league.

Rudy told the world "they'll see" when he was snubbed as an All Star pick. I think what he meant was that he's going to take us to the ship this year and nobody sees it coming.

I always have a debate with people about Gobert being the best center in the league, and get laughed at because obviously everyone's choice is Demarcus Cousins. But these simpletons fail to realize that EVERYTIME this year Gobert has kicked Cousins *** when they play.

Gimme some more, Rudy.... GIMME SOME MO'!!!

Adam Silver just needs to go ahead and change the NBA logo to Gobert's figure, mouthpiece out, giving out a salute. He's that ****ing amazing.

I am very fortunate to be the first to reply to this thread. There are benefits to it being daytime here in Thailand while most Jazz fans sleep... I can act like Rudy's biggest fan next to TFP.

Love your enthusiasm for Rudy. I share the same enthusiasm. But um, greatest Jazz player ever? Gonna be tough to pass Malone or Stockton.

What if he leads us(in a big way) to a championship?

Would liked to have seen Gobert and Hayward on late 90s squad. In fact, would love to have seen:

Stockton
Hornacek
Hayward
Malone
Gobert

Bench: Deron, Millsap, Okur.

whoever takes us to the promised land will be the greatest jazz man of all time. believe in you rudy

IMO this is what he will need to do to be the best Jazzman of all time IMO. Other than that it'll be hard to pass Stockton and Malone.

Gobert is already the best Jazz center ever IMO.

Gobert is taking us all the way this year. I think once the playoffs come he'll play even harder than he does now. Guy is locked in every game. Always makes smart decisions.

I don't want to rain on anyone's parade but the "all he needs to do is add a shot".. is a bit audacious, Rudy turns 25 in june, he will never really have a shot worth being used on purpose. Sure he might become a 50% shooter on 10 ft jumpers if left thoroughly open, still not worth it.

My only wish with Gobert, as for all big big big tall gigantic players, is "please stay healthy". If he does so, he should be hovering at the top of defensive ranking for the next 6/8 years and be damn supergood. That's all one can wish for.

I'd put Boozer on the bench. Millsap ended up having the better career once he left, but as far as Jazz only careers go, Boozer was way better.

Uhh, wut? Shooting 50% from 10 feet is not worth it? ¿Que? Last time I checked he is a 66% FT shooter so that means he can develop a 15 foot jump shot. To say it's not worth it is absurd, almost as absurd as suggesting that at age 25 he is too old to add skills. Reality Check: You are never to old to improve your shot.

I don't think you understood what I said. Even if in theory he could improve his shot to the point where etc, it would still not be worth it because 1/ he brings so much more rolling ot the rim and 2/ a 3pt shot is better than a 10 footer from a center not shooting that well.

And sure it's never too old to improve your shot... But he isn't a 20 years old who could still massively improve his shot. he is nearing 25 and if not a complete product yet, odds are he won't change radically in the future.

Ergo rather than hoping he adds something hypothetical and actually not that essential, my main wish is for him to keep playing the way he does for a longt time, ie stay healthy.

Do you see what I mean ?

He'll continue to improve each year like most players who work hard. I'd like to see him work on finishing around the rim better, as opposed to developing a perimeter shot. Perfecting a hook shot would do wonders to his offensive game.

50% from 10 feet is super good though. I dont think you understand that. I'm not sure if there is any NBA player in the league shooting 50% from 10 feet. That would be 10000000% worth it if he could do that.
