Again, as for the Jazz, I don't see how praying for them is a bad thing? Showing a willingness to pray, shows that you have faith in prayer. Telling others to pray for them has stirred up some good discussion. All this is because of basketball. There are good men and women that are involved in basketball. Basketball promotes team play, fairness and good sportsmanship. Exercise is an important piece in maintaining a healthy body and mind. Without your health, how can you worship as effectively? Therefore, basketball can be a good thing which can be a vehicle for good.
Of course, just like anything else, something built with good intentions can be used for negative purposes. When I think about the NBA, in the big picture sense, it's hard to quantify how much money these players and staff should be paid while still remaining fair. Celebrities, basketball players included, do have to sacrifice their privacy and anonymity when they join the NBA. That means they have a higher than normal cost to them, if they want to regain that privacy.
Plus, security and safety become much bigger concerns as well. Having a big yard with big walls, along with a big car with tinted windows are just some of the added methods for securing celebrities and their families. Of course, there are other methods that are cheaper but it would be hard to justify going cheaper when you have legitimate concerns about stalkers and mentally unstable fans. Deterring them not only saves the celebrity but also the overzealous from themselves.
The rest is up for discussion. How much is too much when it comes to apparel and comforts. Although, if you're so famous that you don't feel like you can go to the movies anymore, then installing your own movie experience in your home becomes more a "necessity" per se. Is it really a necessity or a luxury when you compare it to people who struggle to even afford going to the movies?
At any rate, maybe we should include praying for the players and staff to make good decisions with their money as well? In my own life, I've found that I'm much happier when I'm very generous with my money than when I'm not. I figure that my good fortune is your good fortune. Plus, it's much more fun to share, not just money but also life in general, with others. Don't you think? Life would be so boring without people to share it with!
Well, gotta run. Take care, everyone!
Go Jazz!
