Say a Prayer for the Jazz before the Draft....

I've been praying for Ain't to die for over 2 years. I've given up hope that there is a God...
Maybe the fact he hasnt answered to your liking and has provided Aint as your nemesis to help you grow and mature and learn patience proves that there IS a God. Its possible. :D

I save my prayers for boxing, because, you know, God helps boxers bash each others brains against their skulls. Or at least I have to conclude he does, since so many boxers thank god after their matches.
Seriously, I hope there's a higher power who cares a lot more about the bigger issues than watching basketball. Of course with the genocide that's taken place throughout history, with rape, human trafficking, child abuse, etc. so rampant, it's hard to really believe in a deity.

God can't force people to make good decisions nor can the Devil force you to make bad decisions. We have our own free agency to choose good or evil. We're here to learn and grow, from our good decisions and our mistakes. People do get hurt by those mistakes. We just have to do our best to make up for them.

God can help us prepare to be ready for hard times and trials. He can also help us endure them and come closer to understanding them. However, without the proper perspective, it would be hard to truly see as He sees. Our sampling of existence is microscopic compared to eternity.

Just remember that sometimes bad things happen to good people as well as good things happen to bad people. The point isn't to judge God for what has happened but to pray for understanding and comfort. Just know that God does love His children. Then pray to understand from His eternal perspective.

Keep in mind that this is Act II of a three-part play. Sometimes the bad guys win in Act II. Also, it's no accident that things in life testify of eternal principles.

Again, as for the Jazz, I don't see how praying for them is a bad thing? Showing a willingness to pray, shows that you have faith in prayer. Telling others to pray for them has stirred up some good discussion. All this is because of basketball. There are good men and women that are involved in basketball. Basketball promotes team play, fairness and good sportsmanship. Exercise is an important piece in maintaining a healthy body and mind. Without your health, how can you worship as effectively? Therefore, basketball can be a good thing which can be a vehicle for good.

Of course, just like anything else, something built with good intentions can be used for negative purposes. When I think about the NBA, in the big picture sense, it's hard to quantify how much money these players and staff should be paid while still remaining fair. Celebrities, basketball players included, do have to sacrifice their privacy and anonymity when they join the NBA. That means they have a higher than normal cost to them, if they want to regain that privacy.

Plus, security and safety become much bigger concerns as well. Having a big yard with big walls, along with a big car with tinted windows are just some of the added methods for securing celebrities and their families. Of course, there are other methods that are cheaper but it would be hard to justify going cheaper when you have legitimate concerns about stalkers and mentally unstable fans. Deterring them not only saves the celebrity but also the overzealous from themselves.

The rest is up for discussion. How much is too much when it comes to apparel and comforts. Although, if you're so famous that you don't feel like you can go to the movies anymore, then installing your own movie experience in your home becomes more a "necessity" per se. Is it really a necessity or a luxury when you compare it to people who struggle to even afford going to the movies?

At any rate, maybe we should include praying for the players and staff to make good decisions with their money as well? In my own life, I've found that I'm much happier when I'm very generous with my money than when I'm not. I figure that my good fortune is your good fortune. Plus, it's much more fun to share, not just money but also life in general, with others. Don't you think? Life would be so boring without people to share it with!

Well, gotta run. Take care, everyone!

Go Jazz!

Ya know what, I'm going to pray for the Millers to sell more undercoating packages on their new cars, to sell all vehicles for full sticker price, and to be able to hide high interest rates in the financing on the vehicles they sell. And for bad, bad things to happen to their competitors

After all, when the Millers WIN, Jazz fans WIN. If the Millers make money hand-over-fist, they shown in the past 30 years they're willing to go all out and spend the money to compete for a title.

On second thought, nevermind. I'll just go back to my tea leaves and taro cards.
