The Celtics are rumored to be looking to flip Brandon Wright.
The Warriors play better basketball without David Lee (https://basketball.realgm.com/blog/235909/David-Lees-Exit-Unclogged-Drain-For-Steve-Kerr)
Solution?
What if the Celtics trade Brandon Wright and the bad contract of Gerald Wallace for the worse contract, but better player of David Lee? https://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=p4po8d3
Wright is the perfect back-up for Bogut and allows Warriors to play small ball because he can block, clog the lane, and rebound with four shooters. Wallace can probably spell some minutes from Draymond in a small ball line-up at the 4 or play 3rd strong SF behind AI and Barnes. Plus, GSW saves $5-10m next season in this deal when Klay Thompson new deal kicks in.
Lee has a big contract, but is a stat stuffer and they need scorers and rebounders with this team. He also would be tradeable in the off-season as an expiring contract. I think Boston may be able to get a pick out of GSW as well, even a second-rounder.
