What's new

Seriously... You have got to be kidding me...

I was just on NBA.com and the poll questions asks, "Which of these players is most likely to break out this season?" The possible answers are Favors, Dragic, Faried, and Knight. Knight has 4388 votes (15 percent), Faried has 8601 votes (30%), Dragic has 10,228 votes (35%) and Favors has a mere 5,683 votes (20%). There has got to be something wrong with this. Favors would eat Faried alive with his length and athleticism, and Dragic at 35% is just... Really? If Favors played in NY or LA, i get the impression he'd be at the top of the list. is that what this is? NBA fans should know that Favors off his athleticism and length alone is a 12 and 10 guy if he gets 35 minutes (an accidental double double and not to mention a defensive juggernaut in this league) and that is Dwight Howard-esque when you compare Howard and Favors at the age of 21 years young. Who's with me? Discuss... :)

Do you have a link? I'm surprised that something like this hasn't already had its own thread.

I just voted but my results are a little bit different. Still absurd though.

Random people who likely have limited knowledge and probably have various team biases who are voting in an internet poll have a different opinion of the topic than you? That's absurd. It seems impossible!

Stop trolling. You know that there is already a thread about this.

They are two different topics. hmmm, how do i say... they are not the same topic. for one focuses on Sekou Smith and who he has deemed the top 5 most likely to break out, whereas the other, the one i am focusing on, targets the poll question and the results thereof... so, in effect, one focuses on a hangtime blog, while the other focuses on the results of a poll, not contained in the hangtime blog, but rather on the front page of NBA.com. So they are different. ...ha :)

I think Utah does a horrible job marketing its players and the team itself, and they would attract more free agents and fans, if they were bettter at it. San Antonio and Oklahoma City are not bigger markets, but Robinson and Duncan were always bigger stars than Malone and Stockton. Now, Durant, Westbrook, and Harden are bigger than Boozer, Williams, AK, and Okur ever were for Utah. If Williams could have gotten the national exposure in Utah that Durant was getting in OKC (or close to it) then I think he would have been more likely to stay. If Utah had better marketing, Favors would be Top 2 on that list. I am hoping the addition of DL as GM helps in marketing as a way to get free agents.

So you're saying that the absurd outcome of the poll is not absurd, because it's the expected thing. I honestly agree with you.

If you say so. All I can say is that this is certainly not an apples vs oranges debate, it is more like Red Delicious apples vs Granny Smith apples debate.

PS, we need Cyrone to brake out of jail. He would have been the first to bring this up.

What I want to know is PKM really #2 or is he #25?
That little pkm is for trampling TroutBum's e-peen.

The fact that TroutBum is at the very bottom of your list (and in danger of losing even that position) is proof enough to me that your list is perfectly accurate.
You're a wise man.

ditto - It would be like winning an Oscar award
My list is overrated. But anyway, one day everyone will be on my list for 15 minutes.

Back to the topic, Favors is really on another level amongst those guys.
