Sinclair Merger: The Creation of Homogeneous Broadcasting

The Thriller

What do you guys make of this? The corporatization of broadcast news has already happened to an extent. But what Sinclair is doing seems worse. In Russia it's almost impossible to organize any criticism of Putin because all of the media is controlled by Putin and his oligarchs. The lack of heterogenous reporting prevents free thought and criticism.

What do you think about this?

Ramesh Srinivasan, a professor at UCLA Center for Global Digital Cultures, talks with Joy-Ann Reid about how Donald Trump's FCC chairman helped pro-Trump Sinclair Broadcasting find a loophole to purchase a huge number of local TV stations, which it is forcing to air right-wing commentaries.

I think we are going to find our country radically changed from this four-year presidential term. And I'm not sure we can stop it.

We have been giving up our freedoms in the name of security since 9/11, and many Americans are apparently willing to go even further. I'm not sure we can claim to be "the home of the brave" any longer.
