From Corbin...

Hayward, who has started several games for the Jazz this season, came off the bench Tuesday, and Corbin indicated he would probably do the same for tonight's game with Portland, backing up C.J. Miles. Paul Millsap will likely play the small forward spot and rookie Derrick Favors will start at the power forward position.

I realize he will get minutes, but I think he has earned the start. Especially in front of the home crowd after helping take down the Lakers in LA.

For the same reason Sloan didn't start Dwill his entire rookie year (and thus let him compete for the ROY award). Sloan JR. doesn't want Hayward's head to get too big for the team.

My only guess is that Hayward is going to be on the team regardless, but CJ still has to earn it. Maybe Coach Corbs and KOC want to take more time to see if they want to throw another $4mil next year at Sir-Clanks-A-Lot...

Don't worry; it's Kenny Banya opening for Jerry Seinfeld.

I don't know about you guys but when I see two girls, a hot one and an ugly one, I always go after the ugly one. Who doesn't do this? Well besides UB who would just take both.

Its not really a big deal. Corbin is probably interested in seeing Sap play the 3, and he wants to see CJ get some confidence going most likely.

Besides, if he is going to be the next Ginobili (like everyone on here is proclaiming) he needs to learn to come off the bench.

I think the early fouls is the main reason. I think he will get a lot of minutes, just not at the beginning of the game.

Fouls are so subjective in the NBA.

His only foul trouble is when he get a "rookie pays" ref.

I am glad they did not have these Tuesday.

I still laugh at the play when Hayward slaps the ball away from Kobe, soves him out of the way, goes coast to coast for a layup. Too funny.

1/2 the refs this year would have either called the slap of the ball a foul or the sove of Kobe.

NBA(and all Basketball) is the only game a player gets kicked out for fouls. Need knew rules. I want to see players. Maybe any foul > 6 = 3 free throws. Or make them sit 2 minutes (penalty box). Off soap box :)

Ty is experimenting. He has a golden opportunity to see guys in different lineups in real games that don't matter. Who starts or doesn't is irrelevant at this point.

wait, didn't Locke declare that Hayward would start every game for the next decade?

Gordon Hayward will start on Friday with Raja Bell out with the ankle injury. I will be very surprised if Gordon ever leaves the starting line-up again. In other words, my guess is last night will be the last game Gordon Hayward comes off the bench for the next decade.

what else you got for us, Locke? stock tips?

and sorry I tried repping you but ive given out too many! Maybe tomorrow :)

Well, get to eat my words.

Ty must have read my post :)

Jazz will start Harris, Hayward, Miles, Millsap, Jefferson vs. Blazers. per Brian Smith.

Not to nitpick, but didn't Williams start more than 40 games his rookie year?
