From his Emptying the Noggin column last night.

"The Jazz are 11-2 when they have their regular starters. If they are missing one starter, they are 21-11. If they are missing two starters, their record is 14-15 and if they are missing more than three starters — as they were tonight —*they are 2-3."

That is pretty amazing. 11-2 is a 69 win team. 21-11 is still a 54 win team. How good can this current team be?

So when the Jazz have their full starting lineup or missing 1 starter (which I would say is a "normal" scenario) they are 33-13. This translates to a 59 win team or 3rd best record in the entire NBA. ****ing injuries...smh.

Be wary of this stat. The starters may have been playing against bottom feeders and the lesser players against the titans. It's an interesting atat but there almost need to be an index to see if it is meaningful.

Obviously there needs to be context. But I am more than satisfied that when you combine the first two categories and end up with 32-13 - which is more than half of the season- you have more than enough of a "sample" to say this is a 55 plus winning team when we are healthy. Of course that goes down if Rudy of Gordon are the one injured, especially Rudy.

Plus the starter(s) we lose matters a lot! Losing hayward + gobert for a game is a lot different than losing hood+favors. Definitely needs more context
