“Well I’m going to urge the owners — and it’s not very radical but we were talking about it for awhile — to adopt the international rule on basket interference,” Stern said.

“That is to say, once the ball hits the rim it’s in play. Because I think that it’s too hard to call. I think that we don’t want to stop the game every time to see if it’s the right call, but the camera that looks down on the basket can tell the story if the refs have gotten it right. And it’s just impossible to call to make whether the ball’s touching the rim, on the rim, off the rim or the like. And I think that would make the game faster, better, and less controversial. And I think we’re going to be putting in more — I forget the exact number — just more replay opportunities because we really want to get it right. So those are the biggest things.

Personally, I'm against this, but I'm also a little intrigued at how much it would change the game. Tall, athletic players could really wreak havoc, while shooters would lose the advantage of shooters touch. Thoughts?

When I said "thoughts", I guess I should have been more specific. My bad.

lol

Well, my thoughts are that they should leave it alone. Seems they call goat tending once every two or three games, not a big deal IMHO.

Speaking of which, I really wish we had this guy. Hamed Haddadi. Dude is really tall, and can totally tend some goats. (backlash expected)

Stern's a moron. But it seems he has his mind made up and he almost always gets what he wants so for us, drafting a big like Bimbo becomes even more appealing. Heck, dare I say, even re-signing AK for a couple years.

Why is that a shocker? My taste for the NBA has gone down the crapper over the last two seasons and I think this might be a decent way to bring a new twist to the game I used to love watching. I've enjoyed watching a few international games and thought it would be a great rule to have over here.

I've seen pros and cons against this rule. I can see being swayed by both. What it comes down to is that I can argue either way and would be happy either way, so I end up not caring one way or the other.
