Throw something together to get this going...

Fresh off another defeat at the hands of the Hawks, the Jazz head out on the road with back-to-back stops in Texas. Last summer we moved from Texas, right in between Dallas and San Antonio, who the Jazz will take on tonight and tomorrow. The last time we lost to Atlanta, we recharged with a 20-2 run, so the Mavs and Spurs may want to watch this game film on what's coming their way:

Hopefully Joe is ready for his bounce-back game.

Should Favors still be out, the Mavs will get an extra helping of Ekpe's Udon Noodles.

Before the hawks game was worried we would drop this one (just felt like we had been playing poorly and were due). Well now that we have the hiccup out of the way this is obviously a must must win. LFG guys. Hopefully our three point shooting comes back to us

This one matters, and so does the next, and the next. We laid an egg against the Hawks. Time to get back to the winning ways. A few additional points to consider:

According to this site, "Dallas will likely play without starting point guard Dennis Smith Jr. After going out with a sprained ankle against Brooklyn Saturday night, he missed Tuesday’s 115-105 loss to New Orleans. In his stead, look for Barea to get the nod at point."

JJ has been a Jazz killer so many times I've lost count, so this might not be good news, depending on who else spells him at PG. (Yogi Ferrell has performed well against Utah this season, shooting 8/15 combined in the two games.)

This site says H. Barnes has his worst offensive nights against the Jazz.

Sadly, Cuban's ill-advised public comments about tanking have likely resulted in Dallas trying a bit harder in some of these games. They seem to really cherish beating the Jazz, so I don't expect the Mavs to just roll over.

That's a good point about Barea - definitely a Jazz killer. Doesn't bode well that Schroeder just went off

Season series, we're 2-0. (We only play them 3 times, unlike other Western conference teams who shall remain nameless.)

Oct. 30Jazz 104, Mavs 89. In a game in which Utah trailed by as many as 11 points, Rodney Hood scored 25 to lead us to victory. Fifteen points is nothing to shake a stick at, but we don't have Hood no more. Rubio put up 20 and Gobert had a double-double with 17 points and 12 boards. Bench-wise, Sefolosha had 11 and Mitchell had 8 points in 17 minutes off the bench. Udoh was a team-worst -17 in 15 minutes, so hopefully Favs suits up or Udoh does better. Bench contributed 29 points. For the Mavs, Barnes was 3-11 but Dirk scored 18 and Barea had 17 off the bench. Notably, Jingles shot a poor 1-5.

Feb. 25Jazz 97, Dallas 90. Mitchell led all scorers with 25 on 8-20 shooting. Rubio struggled, going 2-9. Off the bench, Crowder had an inefficient 11 points on 12 shots. The bench contributed 26 points overall, though. Dallas led by as many as 7 (only briefly) in the second quarter. Barnes was 4-11.

In both games, Dallas spent some time in the lead and played Utah fairly close (although they trailed by as many as 17 down the stretch of the 4th quarter in Oct.). Dallas has lost This is the only time we play in Dallas this season. Dallas has lost 7 of their last 10, including wins over the Grizz, Kicks, and Nuggets (yikes).

Dallas has been playing decently lately. Nerlens Noel has been back and I think they're playing to win more since Cuban got that huge fine for the tanking comments. According to David Locke the Jazz have the worst 3 point percentage in the league the last 15 games, so hopefully we step it up. Otherwise it's going to be a grind out game that goes down to the wire.

Not going to be easy but we need this win badly. I am really hoping Donovan will have efficient night.

this is the litmus test for the rest of the season. If we lose this we're fooked. If we win convincingly, we'll steamroll through the rest of the schedule. We need to make some damn 3s

Buckle up bitchezzz

Sometimes a loss like Atlanta is a good thing for a team to remain humble and hungry. Knocks off the invincibility factor and makes them realize even this late in the game they can't take teams lightly. Tonight, we'll see if they learned their lesson or not.

Another wonderful thread. Not the thread we deserve but the thread we need.

Loved the meme men at work song. Very well done.
