The more I follow this free agency the more I want the Jazz to bring back this exact team but switch in one more offensive playmaker with the MLE.

I look forward to a healthy and hungry Jazz team. And the improvement we’re gonna see...
 
I think there’ll be better players available for cheaper. Or at least younger players with more upside. I don’t see the need to keep him.

This one will be interesting. I think they like Thabo a lot and I think they keep him. There were lots of minutes given to Jae where I think Thabo was a better option. Key will be if they believe they can sign someone for MLE type money who is a lot better at stretching the floor, but even then, the Jazz may not to dish out a long contract.
 
If he can return to the way he played last season, it's a no-brainer to keep him at that one-year salary. He was probably our best on-ball defender and a good 3-point shooter, who can also get to the hole to score. Age and his injury are the concerns but I'm sure the Jazz have closely monitored this in order to make a good decision.

But he's coming off an injury. He's not going to be the player the Jazz had last year. He could decline as badly as JJ did.
I'd be surprised if the Jazz pick up his option. They could sign him later, but they need the cap flexibility until they see how free agency plays out.

True, but he’s also younger than JJ was and costs half as much. I’d probably waive him, just to keep options open heading into free agency. . . But I’ll understand if they jut keep him at his current price tag.

I think better players will be available at a bargain. I’d decline his option they could probably resign him cheaper the way this offseason is looking. I’d much rather have Bjelica at $6M or 7M.

Thabo will be off the books next off season. That has lots of value. Not to sure Jazz want to tie up any off that space with a player at Bjelica’s Level.

I think the Jazz are aiming at 2019 free agency. They will bring back this team as it started to lead to so much growth and experience for the players and coaches.

At most we will see the MLE used on an offensive creator for the bench.

Putting all the eggs in 2019 basket scares me.

We have money in a buyer’s market this year and should at least explore the options. Guaranteeing Thabo out of the gate just signals a full “run it back” without even letting the landscape develop.

Everyone says just use the MLE, but it’s my understanding we have no roster spots if we sign the 3 FA and guarantee the NGs.
