The Jazz have no identity

I was thinking a lot about this last night. Who are the Jazz? What are they really trying to accomplish? Really there are only two choices here. Either they are a team that is trying to make it to the playoffs or they are a team that is developing and could be amazingly good in a couple of years. If they do decide to make it to the playoffs then they need to trade young players for proven talent. If they are developing talent then they need to trade the players that are getting in the way of development.

Either way there needs to be some significant trades that happen before the trade deadline. The longer that they are wishy-washy means that we as fans will see this terrible breed of basketball. Make a decision and be happy with it.

I agree that they lack an identity. They also need a clear team leader. Who would that be? Jefferson..pff, Harris...pff...

This year will set the Jazz up to be serious contenders for a nice long window if the Jazz FO/Coach play their cards right.

I agree with everything that you just said. I would vote for Millsap to be the leader and that they go for the youth movement. Get Favors, Hayward, Kanter and Burks their time together and then they can break in the two lottery picks next season.

Beautiful. Throw in trades for Bell, Big Al and some others for pieces we need like a veteran shooter.

They do need an identity, but I think leadership has to come first. Millsap could be the guy, but he needs to assume the role, and he hasn't done that so far. Watson would be a good leader but can you be the leader coming off the bench? Someone has gotta do it, but I don't see any clear choice, and that's a problem.

NOBODY WANTS BELL OR BIG AL! Can't you get that through your thick skull??? NOBODY!

False. Minny wanted Bell last year. The Jazz and Wolves just failed to reach an agreement. There are plenty of teams that would like a 20/10 big man.

I think the best we could get for Jefferson right now is a late first and an expiring contract. No bad teams are trading a pick for him right now. He's a perpetual loser that is too small to play C and too slow to play PF.

Maybe package him and Bell or Miles for a shooter or a slightly higher pick. Loaded draft so value is increased on the picks which hurts our chances of getting one.

We should be patient with trading Jefferson. There will be a team that loses a big man and they will come running the Jazz way and they will try for Favors and then Millsap and will evenutally make their way to Jefferson and then we will be set.

He's a perpetual loser

Jefferson and Harris are perpetual losers. Raja is identified as a Jawjacker, coach Ty is a Journeyman. There is your identity.

I think the big trouble is that for years Ol' Jerry dominated all other personalities in the organization. One unfortunate side effect was a collection of players that would submit to Jerry. Jazz wouldn't take or keep a player that wouldn't conform to Jerry. Now there are no strong personalities to lead.

I just do not understand why we do not run more.

Like the 3 point play Hayward had.... We have youth and legs, use what we have to our advantage.
