What's new

Those "Memphis" thugs cannot help themselves.

Congrats to Anai and other high character BYU staff for controlling these Ferguson thugs. I think any school other than BYU you will have bodies hit the floor. Very well controlled by high character leaders and young men.

LOL BYU shows poor sportsmanship and your congratulating the coaching staff? #12 on your team sucker punched a guy on national TV then ran away like a little bitch.

As a Ute fan I do feel bad for number 12 on BYU (just hear me out) unless, of course, he started it. The kid was in a scary, emotional, heated, intense situation and obviously already been clocked really good by someone (not in a 1 on 1 situation either.) His adrenaline was in control a la fight or flight mode. Now, I'm not condoning his actions, but I do feel bad he was caught on camera retaliating/protecting a teammate. But this isn't as simple as a normal sucker punch imo.

He ran away like a little bitch you say? In the video I saw, he was still throwing punches while his teammates were pulling him back.

This was brawl was as entertaining as the game.

I'm actually really embarrassed right now for BYU. Not because of the fight or the sucker punch. Because they lost to Memphis in a college football game.

LOL.

This is Memphis's second fight. #97 has started 2 of them.

All you Utah bitches blasting BYU over this. First of all, STFU. You wouldn't be upset if your team did this. Secondly, these guys were in a highly stressed situation. Double OT. Memphis was running their asses all game long. Do I condone the fight? Of course not. But anyone who has played football can and will understand that you MUST fight back when you see your brothers being pummeled.

For years we blasted the Jazz for no one stepping up for when Korver or someone was run over by Kleuza. The recent scuffle we had where Kanter stepped up in defense of (burks I think) was praised. It's only hypocritical that you Uties are merely stirring the pot. Your season is over but ya never miss a chance to talk about BYU. The more you're "over" this rivalry the more it's confirmed that you're not.

Yeah, it's only hypocritical that we praise Kanter stepping up to defend Burks while condoning a post-game brawl in which douchebag haymakers were thrown left and right because, hey, you gotta defend your boyz.

Absolutely.

If womens takes a swing at Hayward or Burks, then I EXPECT Kanter to knock the **** out of the punk. It doesn't matter what the suspension will be. That's how you defend your boys. One of the greatest mistakes of Malone's career was not knocking the **** out of webber for taking out Stockton.

Let's put it this way... 4 missionaries are walking down the street. One is jumped. Should the other 3 just stand there? Nope, they're going to beat the hell out of the idiot who dared messed with their brother.

Byu didn't start this. #97 from Memphis did. But BYU sure as hell fought back and ended it. Which is to be expected out of a football team. I would be more concerned if they didn't.

Sorry, ***** *** men commenting here, play sports, then comment. Until you actually play competitively, you have no idea what we are talking about.

I would be extremely embarrassed as a Utah fan if my team showed that much poor sportsmanship. Any fight started after losing a game looks bad for both teams. Your team made an ESPN highlight reel for being involved in a fight after a loss. Regardless of fault only a complete homer would not feel some embarrassment after an even like that.

He threw 2 punches at a guy not looking at him and then voluntarily took 6-7 steps away from the guy he punched without being restrained and never going back at the guy he punched. It was a classic Carmello Anthony hit and run.

Evidence? Nothing I've seen or heard except out of your mouth says that this was started by a particular team or player.

Please lock the thread. It was clearly started as a trolling attempt by a troll alt.

As a BYU fan, it's embarrassing. But I don't blame the kid for throwing the blind haymakers. Chances are, sometime earlier in the fight, he was the victim of the same thing and now he's looking for revenge. After all, there's evidence of Memphis players swinging helmets as weapons.
I don't know anything about how it started, but I can imagine a Memphis player turned around and got in the face of a BYU player instead of celebrating with his team. The BYU player probably retaliated instead of turning around. Bad situation for both teams.

There are certain college teams that take on the identity of their cities and are really chippy. Memphis is like that. University of Houston is like that. Florida State....though I don't think that's a Tallahasse trait necessarily. Miami of years past of course. I like it though.

Actually there is a video in the other thread showing this guy throwing a punch at another Memphis guy (who is not looking at him) and a Memphis player retaliating against him with a punch that knocked him to the ground. He got that blood on his nose by being a little bitch and then followed it up with sucker punching another guy. This time at least he was smart enough to run away. Didn't want to get knocked down by a 2nd punch I guess.

Yeah, that dude is a weenie and a big part of the reason why these kind of fights get out of control. Coaches and staff get control of most of the players, then 1 dude has to get the last hit in and sucker punch somebody, then all hell breaks loose.

Lol.

You see what you want to see... He got tagged by a blind sided punch no different than the one he threw. I know. I know. It's shocking to think such things happen in barbaric 50 on 50 fights.

I haven't seen that. If that's true (I have a hard time believing little snippets of video in a brawl show the whole story), I would imagine he'll be suspended for a good long while next season.
Regardless, it's embarrassing.

This thread has reminded us of a few things. One, boobs excels in trolling. Two, The Thriller's still as dumb as always. And three, people see what they want to see.
