Those "Memphis" thugs cannot help themselves.

...All you Utah bitches blasting BYU over this. First of all, STFU. You wouldn't be upset if your team did this. Secondly, these guys were in a highly stressed situation. Double OT....

Highly stressed? They got a trip to Miami Beach for crying out loud, to play a football game in the
"WTF WhoCares" Bowl.

lifetime ban for all concerned...

boy, if I was a moderator there, they'd all be in BIG trouble...

Miami Beach for BYU players? Probably pretty stressful for them to retain their Mormon oaths.

The scene where reddit claims it started looks the following to me:
Memphis dude taunts BYU dude while everyone else is celebrating the win a couple meters nearby. BYU guy shoves Memphis guy and turns away. Memphis guy drops the 2 handed hammer against his head. ANd then you got a dozen lucky players who release all their suppressed aggresion and emotions ;)

I love brawls somehow. They make things interesting.

Probably best and most accurate post on the subject.

So this is allegedly the start. What I see is: A lot of Memphis guys go towards the guy who intercepted the pass and celebrate on the floor. That Memphis #97 stands with his back to the celebrating crowd and it's very likely he is saying/gesturing at him. #56 of BYU actively shoves him afterwards and turns away. Then #97 retaliates physically and punches him in the back of his head. That's what it looks like to me.

You can actually see an arm with a blue sleeve horizontally at the start of it. Looks like it might be pushing the BYU player in the back. Hard to say for sure.

Ye I see what you mean. But I doubt that a) someone can really push a heavy weight guy with a very low center of gravity that hard into the other Memphis guy with only one arm from a long range. Also the BYE dude has his arms crossed in front of his body and clearly uses them not only to stumble upon the guy and keep his balance, but he
actively pushes the guy.

I don't know. Unnecessary provocation by the Memphis dude who wasn't focused on winning, but trashtalking the loser. And then the BYU guy loses control(If it's a shove or intentional physicality)

In all actuality, it's probably both

Lol.

You see what you want to see... He got tagged by a blind sided punch no different than the one he threw. I know. I know. It's shocking to think such things happen in barbaric 50 on 50 fights.
He got tagged by a punch he saw coming after he threw a punch. I don't know how you call that blindsided when he is facing right at the guy who punched him. Also it was not a 50 on 50 fight. At most 15 different guys threw actual punches.

I would be extremely embarrassed as a Utah fan if my team showed that much poor sportsmanship. Any fight started after losing a game looks bad for both teams. Your team made an ESPN highlight reel for being involved in a fight after a loss. Regardless of fault only a complete homer would not feel some embarrassment after an even like that.

Ute fan being a Basic Bitch per par.

Many Memphis players deserved to get sucker punched for acting thugs and stomping a guy on the AstroTurf. I yelled and applauded when he threw that blindside at that Memphis *******.
