Trading for STAT?

So you are basing every trade based on what that idiot Hollinger thinks? Pretty sure anyone who watches basketball knows STAT > Big Al

Not really.

He was better when he had Steve Nash spoon feeding him, but that time has long since passed.

I'm guessing that there are maybe 1 or 2 teams in the entire league who would trade for Stoudemire this offseason. The other 28 or 29 teams wouldn't touch him. He may still have some game left, but the size of that contract, which is uninsurable, coupled w/ his knee injuries (the reason his contract can't be insured), makes him almost untradeable.

False. I'm stating that he would not make the team better, and not even in the unrealistic dream world that Hollinger lives in would it make our team better.

I seriously doubt Amare's knee(s) make it through the life of his contract - which is another 3 years and 65M.

He missed 20 games this year - I imagine he'll miss plenty more.

You guys are forgetting the fact that an Amare without Melo = 25.3 ppg, 2 blocks, 8.2 rebounds, 50 FG% and played 78 games. Especially if we could land Marshall, an Amare and Favors combo would be unstoppable

So if we could land Marshall, without a pick (hey, maybe he'll slide to #47), and get Amare ....

If the Jazz did decide to move Al or Sap, what could they reasonably get back? And should they move one?
John Hollinger (12:25 PM)

Have to look for backcourt help, and especially shooting. Ideally trade him for a young point guard, or perhaps do something like trading Millsap to Portland for the No. 6 pick and taking Lillard.

This was from a conversation earlier this morning. How about trade Millsap and a future 2013 1st round pick for Batum and the 11th Pick. Then get Marshall.

Marshall
Hayward
Batum
Amare
Favors

I repeat, every single team (minus maybe NJ who needs to do something or else they could be opening their new arena starting Jordan Farmar, Marshon Brooks, Gerald Green, Kris Humphries and Brook Lopez - YIKES) is scared to death of Amare's contract. The big issue isn't his productivity (although that has somewhat declined and would be something to ponder), it's the fact that his contract is not insured. The only reason NYK went ahead and gave him that contract was because they were in basically the same position as NJ could be in a few months from now and were desperate)

If we're going to get younger, lets get younger. Amar'e is only 29, but healthwise he's closer to 40 than 30. The other part of that(Milsap/Jefferson for Pick/Batum). Considering how hard they went after Milsap last time he was a FA, I'm confident he has more value to Portland than Jefferson does. It makes sense to squeeze more out of that trade than Jefferson.

Plus, when his Portland contract is up, if we're professional about it and make sure he knows he's wanted back, maybe we can re-sign him when his contract runs out.

Two years ago, before he tacked on another serious injury or two.

You need to stop.
