Another campaign promise kept. Another good thing he is doing, and another topic ignored on this site.

This would normally be great news to people on the left,. But of course anything to oppose Trump. You will see nothing but the radical far leftists media sites such as CNN and the Washington Post criticize the move. Its not one bit surprising.
Hilarious, that they are actually trying to tie it into Russia Gate. Anything to keep the Russia narrative going.

Kind of funny how now the left are the war mongers advocating war in the middle east. I think what we are going through is a pole reversal of politics. The left is becoming the right, and the right is becoming the left. The left has become the hateful not fun war mongers willing to kill people and bankrupt this country.

Lets start checking things off as the reversal happens.

So far..

The left has become war mongers
The left is anti science
The left is anti free speech, anti free thought
The left are bullies
The left is no longer peaceful, they are violent.

I once considered myself a democrat. Hated Fox News, the Bush's. Huge fan of the Daily Show, Colbert, Voted for Obama, etc...But I cant roll with what the left is becoming.

The alternate reality is strong with this one.

Imagine for a moment that the concepts of left and right didn’t exist. Because I find it really hard to distinguish between both of them sometimes, yet at the same time the people are the most polarized I’ve ever seen. Craziness I say.

The left have always been war-mongers. War-mongering has long been a central feature of the entire US political spectrum; the difference being which wars.

The left has a few anti-science nuts (the anti-GMO crowd, some anti-vaxxers), but being anti-evolution and anti-climate-science is the provenance of the right (and they are buying into anti-vax as well).

I don't understand why the desire to be rude and oppressive is so important to people.

There are some bullies on the left. The organized bullies are the Proud Boys and similar movements, and they are on the right.

According to the FBI, the right-wing extremists commit more terror acts than either left-wing or Islamist terror groups; they are the biggest terror threat.

Read; donnie tries to appear in power after senate reminds him that there is a check on him.

Well, it's possible you may find this read very illuminating with respect to your feelings in that regard. I know I did. In a way, there is nothing new here. This description of what hinders left minded people and right minded people from understanding each other has been a subject for study many times. Nonetheless, I think it goes to the heart of the matter, and provides helpful food for thought:

Should have put the correct title on the actual story.

You really cannot separate the resignation of Mattis from Trump's decision to withdraw from Syria. The latter led directly to the former, in a "last straw" way, in most people's opinions at this point.

It's easy to say the US should not be the policeman of the planet. It isn't difficult to agree with that sentiment, or to at least understand why a majority of Americans would feel that way. But we should at least remember that when we removed Hussein from power in Iraq, when we removed a Sunni led regime in Iraq, we helped set in motion the rapidly devolving conditions that have played out in the Middle East. In other words, we bear some responsibility for things like the Arab Spring, and Shia-Sunni proxy disaster in Yemen, the Syrian civil war. Usually, people responsible for messes bear some responsibility for correcting their mistakes. So, given that our invasion of Iraq set in motion much of what followed in the region, we should at least acknowledge our role and act responsibly. It does not seem as if Trump is acting responsibly. He has a phone conversation with a fellow authoritarian in Turkey, and boom, here we go, we're outtta here, not our problem. Even though we helped precipitate it all.

And no, of course we are not responsible for enmities that existed in the Middle East long before we were even born as a nation. But for Mattis to pen his resignation letter the way he did went a long way in describing where our own honor should lie where allies and adversaries are concerned. We bear some responsibility here.

And we will bear some responsibly for whatever results from Trump's decision to withdraw nearly overnight. Certainly the Kurds may see it that way if Turkey makes good on it's threat now to attack the Kurds. And, just as we acted like we were brain dead in removing Hussein from power, with no consideration of what it would unleash(note, not "cheering us as liberators" ala Rumsfeld and Cheney delusions), so too we have no idea what chaos Trump's decision may trigger, including the return of ISIS, despite Trump's claim that we have defeated them for good. Time will tell just how wise this decision was, even given the understandable sentiment that so many of us prefer to not be the planet's police force.

This is nothing new in politics. I don't remember the exact term the intellects use, but it's basically who is in or out of power at the time. The left promoted increased executive power when Bill Clinton was in office because it served their purposes and then were loudly against it during Bush 2. The right did the same with Bush II and then against during Obama. Left for during Obama, now against during Trump.

All the while both groups claiming "they are destroying the constitution".

Bunch of dumb asses.
