Trump's golf bill

"Trump played his 163rd round on golf on Monday, August 13th. The total cost for his golf is close to $400 Million as of that date. He spent 38 weekends, which included a Friday or Monday, in 2017 golfing, cost us approximately $290 Million. That does not include the costs for local law enforcement agencies near trump's golf clubs and resorts for their extra security, protection or overtime. Those expenses were $105 Million in 2017. One payment of $61 Million was included in the April Congressional spending bill and $44 Million came from FEMA in December. I think we can assume those agencies have received at least one payment this year and will get another at the end of the year. They don't include the trips to Mar-a-Lago for Thanksgiving, Christmas or New Years Eve even though he golfed. They don't include 'business' trips even though he 'chose to hold the meetings at his clubs or resorts so that he could golf as well. Also, Marine One expenses are not included, or the extra plane required when it's a 'business' meeting or family trip. Air Force One costs $160,000 per hour. Then there is the rally trips where he also, usually, plays a round of golf. Check out the cities where he has been going. There is a golf course at the majority of the locations. The White House stopped announcing when he is planning a golf trip."

Is that an unusual amount of, um, vacation time for a president? The golf thing sounds incidental. It's just the cost of travel and protection.

Paying Stormy $150,000/romp for shagging her 163 times would only cost $25 million. Would Stormy make this sacrifice for her country?

I prefer Trump to be on vacation, although I doubt the OP's financial figures are accurate.

Seems like Obama's golf bills were all overexaggerated as well.

Seems like Trump criticized Obama for all his golf, and Trump has played more, lol.

This is a horrible story, but what does it have to do with golf?

Edit: Nevermind, saw you posted it in the correct thread.
Yeah I looked at the thread I thought I posted it in and it wasn't there so Iposted it figuring I just forgot to hit "post reply" but turns out I posted it here by accident.

Good point lol.

Golf more please trump

I often think this country would operate better if we didn't have all these politicians pushing their agendas.

I think we should be an anachro-syndicalist commune. We can take turns to act as a sort of executive officer for the week...but all the decisions of that officer have to be ratified at a special bi-weekly meeting by a simple majority in the case of purely internal affairs, but by a two-thirds majority in the case of more...

I enjoy your posts.

So each round of golf costs $2,453,987.73? That seems really really high, even if he was traveling to Dubai for every round of golf it would seem high. Seems exaggerated to me. I would like to see the itemization of these expenses.

I agree. He needs a lot of security whenever he goes anywhere, but he always has a lot of security anyway. Are they subtracting out the daily expenses of him being at the White House from the total?

Of all the things Trump does that does not meet my approval, golfing is not on the list. All presidents need some exercise and downtime, as do we all. He's an expensive president, to be sure, but who thought he wouldn't be?

He needs his time for sure, but he ran on the promise that he wouldn't golf. He literally told people he would be too busy for vacation. He lambasted Obama for holding and he is golfing like 2x as much

I remember. Of all his lies, though, this one bothers me less than most.

While I agree it does seem steep, Joe Biden opened the new cancer center over the road from my work, we had a secret service presence for the week preceding it, we also had strangely clean and polite homeless people show up over night looking for ways to get in and I think waiting to see how long it was before they were found. The local filth also shut down a city block for the weekend, there was a 70 car motorcade, the thing was nuts and that was for the VP. I would say that 2.4 million a day to move the show, if it included local expenses probably wouldn't be that far off the mark.

Gotta remember secret service still have to guard the white house even if T.Rump ain't there.

My problem with him golfing is that he criticized Obama for doing it. He said he would be too busy to golf. The other problem I have is he is doing it at his resorts so he is making money and the taxpayers are paying for it.

He's on pace to do what, 190 days of golf in two years? That's almost every third day he's golfing. And it's not like he's driving down the road to the municipal course. He's firing up the jet engines and moving the circus.
