The Utah Jazz, fresh off a dramatic win against the Minnesota Timberwolves, arrive in the California capital to take care of business to close out the week.

The Jazz carry with them the energy of their conquest, helping Jae Crowder avenge his father's European exile against Scotty Layden's genetic inbred monster. Scotty's perceived decade of experience in the ring was no match for the sheer strength of a Crowder with a motivation:

But tonight the Jazz seek to topple a banana republic: The Sacramento Kings.

Headed by the Marlboro Man himself, Vlade Divac:

Vlade, the King of the Castle, has put himself on notice:

The Jazz, defeating the Kings in the playoffs in 1999. Who could forget these guys?

*Turkoglu not included in 1999 squad.

But Jason Williams invented the long three before it was cool:

Vlade, not to be outdone, assisted the Kings to repeat playoff defeats of the Jazz in 2002 and 2003, especially with this deep three in the clutch:

(I was at this game, unfortunately).

And John Stockton took a seat for the final time:

But who could forget Doug Christie and his crazy wife?

Of course, the Kings have since fallen into the abyss.

They picked up ZBo before he was destined to become a get-away driver:

And Donovan was 2 when Vince made this dunk:

Willy Cauley-Stein is listed as doubtful because of his back.

I don't know much about WCS, but I do know that the concordance rate between anterior neck tattoos and antisocial personality disorder is damn near 100%.

Rudy Gobert going for another monster game:

Donovan likely to hit 45+ tonight:

Of course, that would be fitting.

We are going to need to catch fire again, everybody else has. Another great game thread!

Must-win game tonight... if we lose, we're probably screwed.
These games against sub .500 teams trying to tank are almost all must wins if the Jazz want to make the postseason. This is the part of the schedule where Utah can catch up, but they have to win the games they’re expected to win.

I went to the game last night, then I rewatched some of it today. This team has been playing mediocre for about 7 straight games now. At the end of the 11 game win streak the last couple games just seemed bad, and even the last 2 wins didn’t really feel like great wins. I want to see a game tonight where some things click back in against a bad team with no reason to win tonight. The team has just looked bad wins or not. Hopefully we can get back on track and get a nice clean, feel good win tonight.

Jazz usually ball out on the back ends of back to backs, especially since Goberts been back. They played pretty deep into the bench last night, they are going to go off tonight.

To be fair, we cannot expect Rubio to average 30 ppg, or for Ingles to hit 55% of his threes on 7 attempts a game. That run was unsustainable. We played fine yesterday. Jazz just need to reign in the TOs.

Right. They aren't all gonna have career nights every night. They have won 13 of 15. I don't care how it looks if that's the result. Always room for improvement, but winning is what matters

Id like to watch Spida drop 45 in 3 qtrs tonight. Let mitro long see some extended playing time in the 4th.

I’m pretty sure he’ll drop 21 in the first.

@infection I like how you put another picture of trout in the OP. (The 3 kings pic). He could be considered a gamethread girl right?

Much love to gameface for reviving gamethreads. He made many well done informative good gamethreads during The Streak. They were definitely in the upper echelon as far as gamethreads go.
Infection has taken it to another level. Work of art level. mk11 level.
