What could we get for Hayward?

We have to go in a different direction than this guy. I don't care how young he is. He is one of the most ineffective and unconstant swingman I have ever seen. Lacks all the basic fundamentals of even an adequate jumpshot. I don't think we could get a top 10 pick for him, but perhaps a young vet like Greg Monroe. Not him specifically, but too lazy to go beyond him at the moment. Hayward is not a long term fit here. Let's speculate.

Could do the same thread with Burks to, after his great performance against the Mavs.

Hope someone is getting the message...

People have been saying Boston wants him.

I wonder if the Jazz can grab their 1st round pick (unprotected)

What if hayward goes to Boston and then goes off and becomes that star player we all wished he was for the Jazz? lol. Guess that would just confirm TY crobain is unfit for the coaching position. The problem is Hayward has shown glimpses of being good and then he goes off on a giant 4-5 game stretch where he becomes gorchuck brickhward. Im cool with gorchuck brickward b/c it's helping move us into a good draft spot.

I think the problem with Hayward is coaching. Think TY should move hayward from the guard spot and let em take jeffersucks spot.

Also Hayward isn't worth the price tag he wants. He was offered like 12mil? and he turned it down?

was it 10 or 12? if it was 12 im shocked. LOL

I like Gtime a lot.
HOWEVER, what the hell is up his arse lately.

Last nite 5 shots, looks like he don't care, looks like he is the 5th option when he is out there.

Feels like something is up with him, even Locke said so much in his postcast.

Maybe a trade is imminent.....Girl problems ?

Heck ,since we keep comparing him to George, George just knocked up a stripper. Good times.

girl problem? I doubt that. He just got engaged. Maybe he is just that type of player? lol.

dare I say...mediocre?

The numbers weren't made publicly available, but the indications were that the Jazz probably offered 10 mil, and he was probably asking for 12 mil.

Weakens the legs and his jump shot has been off. Coincidence?

I just think Hayward needs to have some responsibility removed. Go back to being a scoring option instead of trying to have him become a playmaker. 9 out 10 coaches would be able to see this.

I thought the rumor was that they offered a contract similar to Favors. If it was only $10M, I don't blame Gordon for turning it down. Yes, bigs get paid more, but he's also more highly regarded as a player (hence his invitation to the national team workouts).

Hayward doesn't suck. Wait until next year, when the tank is off (if you think it doesn't affect players, you're wrong) and there is a new coach in place. We will all be loving Hayward, Burke, Favors and Parker this time next year.

The dumb threads will pop up about how we need to trade Burke, with three years on his rookie deal, because we might not be able to afford him in three years....

ShaaYYYEhaah... Original brah. How bout you come up with your own content you plagerizing biznitch. Got da massage?

I really like Hayward, but his games have been awful. I've been to about 5 games this season, and every single one he has sucked it up bad. You know his confidence has gotta be shot after his poor play, and Gordo is a player who really, really relies on his confidence

Hayward doesn't suck. He is just being asked to do too much. He is a complimentary player and not a star. He should get paid around $8 million but because it is the NBA he will get more. If he is asking for $12 million then the Jazz should trade his butt to get something in return. However, I think he can play an important role on this team as a 2nd or 3rd option depending on the circumstances of each game. Same with Alec Burks, he is just as inconsistent as Hayward and is a complimentary player who is a great candidate for the 6th man role. Burks is worth about $6-7 million dollars right now if he were to get a new contract. Again I am sure he might get paid more but he has to become more consistent to do so. IF he wants more than that then he needs to be traded too.

These guys need to realize that they have it pretty good in Utah. Right now there is little pressure to perform and they have spots/playing time on a NBA roster. Who knows what happens if they get traded and then get lost in the shuffle of their new team. It is just ridiculous to trade Hayward because he has had a batch of bad games especially considering who the Jazz have to replace his productivity. Do you really want Rush or Jefferson to get more minutes?

No, it was quite clear that he did NOT get as big of an offer as Favors.

Here's the info I remember reading over the summer:

https://www.deseretnews.com/article...ward-cant-work-out-extension-deal.html?pg=all

Yahoo Sports’ Adrian Wojnarowski, who first reported the impasse, claimed the sides “never came close on an extension” and that they remained “several million dollars apart” when calling talks off.

Hayward’s side was reportedly hoping to secure more than Favors’ salary but somewhere less than the $80 million maximum deal fellow 2010 draftee Paul George received this offseason.

So Hayward was hoping for more than what Favors got, I'm guessing probably just a bit more than that, but the Jazz were several millions dollar lower than that.

According to https://www.basketball-reference.com/contracts/UTA.html, Favors got right around $12 mill/year for 4 years. So Hayward was probably asking for $12-13 million/year (which also fits with the "somewhere less than Paul George" comment, since George signed for $16 mill/year), and the Jazz were offering $2-3 million lower than that, i.e. about $10 million.

He's sure doing everything in his power to ruin that perception this season
