What Happened to Katie?

In all the discussions of late on transgender issues, I've been thinking often about a poster here whose original Jazzfanz name I cannot remember (real life name was John) who then became KatieMCR. Does anyone know if she still posts here or anything about her?

I had several private chats with her throughout the experience of coming to terms with her gender identity. As I knew nothing about it, I did a lot of research at the time to try to understand something outside my experience. I owe her a debt of gratitude for expanding my knowledge and understanding and compassion, and I hope her life has been wonderful and lived on her own terms.

even tho some people apologized afterwards, she was still subjected to the sort of jokes that you would expect (it was known that she was trasngender). People also ragged on her for her 49ers fandom. I know she went to a poker game once that Gameface hosted (and he did a great job of asserting that she'd be treated there with respect).

Not hard to imagine why she stopped scouring a Utah-based sports forum full of dudes. I'm sure if you guys were around more when she was, she'd still be here.

Eh, you get terrorist jokes and canadian jokes. I get alcohol jokes and ambien jokes and byu jokes.

I think that everyone pokes fun at everyone. I doubt it was anything too extreme (admittedly I wasn't around for it or plain don't remember it) or by a majority of posters.

Forums are probably one of the only escapes for people like Katie, where she doesn't have to deal with 1) family ******** 2) work harassment 3) suicidal thoughts and 4) a society that thinks nothing of her.

It's different for us.

Ya, I agree. Good point.
 
I quit posting here for several years because being a girl on a sports site can be tricky and I made mistakes. I admire her for hanging around even longer than I did.

Anyway, my interaction with her has positively affected my life. I wish I would have told her.

Her account is still active even if she is not posting If you feel the need to tell her that and thank her than I would encourage you to do so. PM her and maybe she will see it if she ever logs on.
 
I wish one day i will no what happens to my lover Lisa Cutie. She came here only few days and mods ban her for filthy mouth. I always remeber these few days forever.

I agree with fish's post that came before this one but this one by Dala is extremely true and needs to be thought about. I was one who busted Katie's chops. Too much so? I don't recall tbh. Maybe here or there. I also feel like Katie may have been overly annoying in a SaltyDawg type of way so that's where my snarkiness came from but nonetheless, we should respect her and think about **** beyond a message board.

Katie, please return. Your Niners suck once again but I still love you!

Ye. Most members supported him/her (can't remember which) as a person and those who didn't were banned. If anything, we were over-the-top supportive to the point of catering even though he/she asked for most of the abuse she got. You can only ask so much patience from people, or soft love for that matter.
