Where do you have the Jazz finishing in the West this year?

Where will the Jazz finish record wise in the Western Conference?

John Hollinger has the Jazz just barely squeezing into the playoffs at the 8 spot this season, and only because of Dirk's knee. I really think they are being underestimated this season. Where Hollinger has the Jazz winning just 44 games this season, I think the they'll win 50 games. Also interesting is that that Hollinger has the T-wolves higher than the Jazz in the West. Personally, I think Utah will be better than the T-wolves. additonally I think the Jazz will finish top 5 (maybe top 6) in the west. Hollinger also has Denver at Number 2 this year in the west... ? I don't see it. I like the Jazz more than the Nuggets. Marc Spears of Yahoo sports may have said it best, "You don't want to play [the Jazz]... I do think this team has a chance to do something that is under the radar now but by mid season we'll be talking about them." Where do you have the Jazz in the West?

The top 3 for the most part is pretty set with the Lakers/Thunder/Spurs. I'd say the Clips/Nuggets are a 4/5 lock if they remain healthy and either could possibly sneak into the 3rd spot. I'd give the 6th spot to the Grizz for now and I don't know why, but I think they could have a step back year where someone could jump them. I'd put the Jazz @ 7 with the TWolves behind them. I'd say we could go as high as 6 though and I think we win 46 games and the Pups sneak in right behind us at 45.

I got a little bit homerish and voted 5th. It would take great play by the Jazz and some possible misfortune on other teams, but it's possible.

I say:

1. OKC
2. Lakers
3. S.A.
4. Clippers
5. Utah
6. Denver
7. Memphis
8. Dallas/Wolves

I think it is entirely possible. The 3 point shot and increased perimeter D(just the threat) is going to be huge for this team. The Jazz were horrible last year at those things. The Jazz shot over 50% from 3 last night.

This is just a normal jazz season for everyone... once again jazz have a good team... no one will talk about us untill allstar break when they all relize... wow, the jazz have a good team. Not just good, but good with a chip on their sholders wanting to show they belong in the playoffs.. and not for just a first round exit this year.. One reason i am so excited is that this is an all uphill here. we can only get better and climb higher. i think out of basically every team in the nba this year the jazz have one of the highest ceilings.. but hey, i am a jazz fan and thus bias by nature.

I really think the Jazz have a great chance of being better than the Nuggets, Grizz, and Clips. It is certainly possible

I know we don't have a legit star yet and that the NBA is a league driven by stars and i get that Stars are more valuable than depth, but that is not really all that true in the Regular season. Depth wins you games in the regular season. Not too mention, the clips are the only team with a legit star in paul. the Grizz and Nuggets don't have a top 20 player in the league ( Maybe Rudy Gay, and Griffin was way overrated in NBA rank).

I went for 4th coz I was thinking of top 4 since the end of the previous season. The Jazz will achieve better things this season. I hope nothing happens to spoil the chemistry the team has right now. But Sap and Al being in their contract seasons and young bigs demanding more minutes rings some bells for sure. The most I am afraid of is Sap taking a chance to leave. It looks more likely to me now than Al.

I agree with Hollinger, I think Jazz will finish 8th. Thunder, Lakers, Spurs, Denver, Clippers, Minnesota will be in top 6, Grizzlies, Jazz, GSW and Dallas will fight for 7-10th spots. Rest of West is lotery bound.

I am the first board member to vote "top 3 team".
thanks and I WILL have the bragging rights for this insightful vote o'mine, when the time comes.
JAZZ ARE CONTENDERS!

I think people are vastly over hyping Minny and Denver. I am not saying they will be bad but they are not as good as they are made out to be.

Same with GSW. They won't even make the playoffs. I say they finish 10th in the west.

I do not see it quite yet. There making very solid moves in that direction though.

IMO Denver is this year's scary team as far as a middle of the road playoff seed that vaults up with the big boys. Utah should be around the middle in their place.

Jazz are going to win a lot of games though if they consistently hustle like we saw last night.

I was thinking about this yesterday, but this team seems to resemble that pistons team that beat the lakers with Malone. There are no superstars but it's a very deep team. The only difference is that team was battle tested and a lot more experienced then this jazz team. I say we start slow, but by seasons end I say no one will want any part of this team come playoff time.

That's an interesting, and perhaps accurate take on this year's Jazz team. I wish they were a bit more battle-tested, because even if a game-changing deal like the one that sent Rasheed Wallace to Detroit came along, the Jazz wouldn't be in position to fully take advantage by winning it all this year.

1. Thunder
2. Lakers
3. Nuggets
4. JAZZ
5. Spurs
6. Grizzlies
7. Clippers
8. Wolves
9. Warriors
10. Mavs
11. Blazers
12. Rockets
13. Suns
14. Kings

1. Thunder
2. Spurs
3. Clippers
4. Denver
5. Utah
6. Lakers
7. Grizzlies
8. Wolves

I see the Mavs missing the playoffs.

Lakers look fabulous on paper but not sure they're going to mesh. Age and injuries are also a concern. I'm betting they get off to a slow start. The West is so deep this year I don't think they'll be able to make up ground when they finally get it together.

Denver worries me. I think Iguadola is a huge pickup for them.

Last spot will be Minnesota's unless they have injuries. If that happens Golden State may sneak in.
