I believe Exum will. I see Exum and Burke both starting and having the play making run mainly through Exum. This way Burke can use his spot up shooting to his advantage. Also with Exum's speed he will always be pushing the fast break and his duty will be to push the ball up the floor. Then if there is nothing there the ball would rotate back to Burke for a pick and roll. But the first option will run through Exum.

Having the offense flow through the SG position seems like a Jordan/Kobe thing to do. Does anyone know if Kobe and Jordan had the highest assists average on their teams?

This is what you come up with, at 10:40 on a Sunday night, when you know there's no compelling reason to go to your bedroom?

inspiring thread.

Says the guys who is reading and responding to my thread.

Also its only 9:40, and I'm relaxing in San Diego on my Ipad as my girls watch A Goofy Movie.

But thanks for being so concerned about me :)

The problem with Exum is that he won't be starting.
The kid is RAW. I see him playing MAYBE 20 mins/per at the start of the season. Burke will be playing 35.

I think Burke and Burks are great players but if Exum can't outplay one of them for a starting spot I will be disappointed. At least by mid-season.

Kobe Bryant: 7.6pts/per in 16 mins in Year #1.
Kevin Garnett: 10 pts in 29 mins in Year #1.
Tracy McGrady: 7 pts in 18 mins/per in Year #1.

Does it take some time adjusting to the NBA straight out of high school? Yes, it does. I realize Exum has a little international experience, but he's still, in essence, making the leap from HS to the NBA. He's raw and a few posters are going to be screaming "bust" when he fails to put up 20/10 his rookie season.

It will very easily be Burke. He will actually be running the offense and I'd imagine we could't get any worse than last year. Exum isn't really known for being a great passer. Why are we assuming he'll rack up assists? Burke spent a decent amount of time in college and a year as a starter in the NBA. This is a silly question.

Neither.

Neto will.

Trey - 16/7.8 assists 36 min
exum - 9/5.1 assists 24 min

keep your expectation low. this is a kid who will learn and grow.

Good movie! But I think it will be Trey because he has already had a year with the team. Even though the offense will change he is the more seasoned of the two at this point so the offense would likely roll through him.

In a perfect world it would be a Spurs style offense where everyone is a playmaker but we might be a ways away from that being a reality.

I thought Corbin was critizsed for using Trey Burke as an off the ball player to much? I do not think Exum and Burke can play together that well... If you play Exum with Burke, you can not use Exums height advantage, because they will guard him with their SG... But if you play together Exum/Burks or Exum/Hayward than the opponent is supposed to guard Exum with a smaller PG, so you can use his height advantage and create miss matches. Even stronger PG´s are not long enough to guard this kid...

I would start...

Trey Burke/Dante Exum
Alec Burks/Thabo Sefolosha/Anthony Morrow
Gordon Hayward/Rodney Hood
Enes Kanter/Veteran PF
Derrick Favors/Rudy Gobert

Exum could get major minutes as 6th man type Player... If he plays better than Trey, than they can switch their roles.

Unless Quinn is being told to throw the year I doubt DE gets 20 minutes a game. He is very raw and likely several years away from making an impact.
