Here are a couple tracks from some of the more underground alternative rap groups I enjoy.I generally prefer my music deep in the underground. I don't typically like rap as a genre, but there are some whose talent is just too huge to ignore, both mainstream and underground. As far as subterranean, I like most of the artists in the Grand Unified collective (Tombstone Da Deadman, Greydon Square), a bunch of Nerdcore artists (MC Frontalot, Schaffer the Darklord, MC Lars, Optimus Rhyme), and the Streets. And then I reach WAAAAAY back to the Last Poets and Gil Scott-Heron.
I dont listen to a ton of Rap but I know that Chance the Rapper is known for his vocals. Here is a splattering of his songs.
Childish Gambino has some great stuff including this
I personally like Afroman's songs and vocals. I enjoy how he sings his songs 3 times to sound like 3 different people singing in harmony.
I am not a big Drake fan but he has some songs that are well known for his vocals including this one that one some awards.
I really tons of Rage against the Machine that is rap rock. There are a bunch of others in this category.
Others you could listen to are: Frank Ocean, Sleepy Brown, TJ Swan, Notorious BIG, Kendrick Lamar, Lil Mama, Lauryn Hill, and many others.
I wish NF songs didnt all sound the same though.I like NF, Logic (probably my favorite), lacrae (christian rap), g-eazy, lupe fiasco, and gym class heroes to name a few.
What i hate is mumble rap, rap that is just way too repetitive, and rap that doesnt have anything of value to say.

Ummmm no. They are basically the harbingers of rap/metal. Zach de la Rocha can definitely be considered a rapper.Rage against the machine is not rap rock. They do zero rapping.

Well... Guess you don't listen to them. Or...Rage against the machine is not rap rock. They do zero rapping.
Oh, you're just dumb or def then?Considering I grew up a big fan of rap and Rage against the machine, that would make me an expert.
I used to listen to Rage Against The Machine every time I did my homework and mowed my lawn.
Come on man, you're an English teacher. You know dog is spelled with one G.Dogg

I honestly don’t like it because it feels fake. Now it’s all about branding and creating an image and making money.
30 years ago it was more just street. At least it felt that way.
I want real thugs, not a bunch of black dudes living large on a yacht, toasting their champagne glasses.
I mean, listen to Pistol Grip Pump. What makes it rap/metal? What do you consider rapping?
I think that it may have a hint of rap. Maybe saying zero isnt correct. But its so little I dont think you can say rap/metal like its a 50/50 mix. I dont think you should even use rap to describe it if you only get two words for it.
