well, without it just being a matter of necessity for the "authority" to recognize it. . . . because there was actually no "power" to enforce something. . . .

Question: Is it what the government declares and specifically defines?

Are they what some "court" rules or establishes as administrative policy. . . . say like visitation rights to your children in a divorce decree?
 
How would you go about claiming rights the government does not recognize, and protect?

Live a day, learn a thing or two. . . .

Listening to some links on the Magna Carta, it seems that the English Kings prior to William the Conqueror and the Norman Conquest were subject to some established laws or rules. A King had to be "acclaimed" by popular support, and had to promise to maintain the established patterns, laws and to respect the people and do good things for them. . . . well, prinicipally as adjudicated by the feudal Lords or barons.

I think it will but it certainly is taking longer than it should. We need more participants and a wider range of topics thats for sure... lol...


Also I'll be on holiday soon I'm thinking of using this thread as a traveling journal or a diary of sort just to spice things up a bit :)
